The farrier called back already, and is coming sometime today to shoe, just couldn’t give me a specific time. I went out and duct taped around Harley’s foot to try and help keep the shoe stable so’s it won’t break the hoof wall....

Oh man! Bummer. Well, at least he’s already scheduled. Can he come sooner? You had what, two more rides you wanted to do this week?

Since he’s coming today, I can probably still ride this evening.

I was planning on riding Today, Tues, and Thurs, but they were going to be easy rides. The main goal was the sponge on a string. I have built this thing up in my head so big and out of proportion, that it’s just stupid:)...I was all set today to go down to the creek throw it in and deal with whatever, which I KNOW is not going to be all that much, it’s all in my silly head.

Funny the things we worry about.

Sat. when I was riding, we were going down the trail, and I totally dropped the reins and was fiddling with the bag I had attached to the pommel as Frog suggested. I wasn’t paying attention to anything. Suddenly several doves whirred up right beside us, Harley jumped across the trail, spun around and took off...I got the reins picked back up and got him stopped after just a few strides. But you know, I never even titled sidewise at all thru out the whole incident...my heart didn’t start pounding, I was just..”you silly horse” and went on and didn’t think twice.

Now I KNOW he’s not going to do anything like that with this sponge thing...so I don’t know why it’s making me nervous, but I’m getting over it this week:)

Have you ever had something like that get in your head, and really screw with you???

Becky

Have I obsessed and worried about something perhaps more than I needed to? As 2J would say... How long have we been friends? :~D

Yes, I have... every trailer trip, every time we start out on a ride. You don’t want to know the crazy fears I battle every day :~)

REally, well then, I don’t feel like such a wussy:), because for all my talk of getting it done, and I am getting it done, I’m still all quivery thinking about it, but it will be such a relief to get it done, that that is now my incentive...I just want to quit thinking about it.

‘Mornin Becky! Those were really cute JP pictures. I like the new arrangement of the swing and stuff. It looks like it was just made to go between those two trees.

Thanks Frog:)

We use to have a hammock that hung between those two trees. We used it a lot. I don’t know why it took me so long to think to put the swing there...one of those Duh, moments:), blinding flash of the obvious:)

Oh, and by the way, I think the fanny pack in front of the horn is going to work perfect. Thanks for the tip:)

Well that’s good at least. I’m hoping that our memorial day weekend stays nice.

I just responded to that post here...

I don’t know where they’re getting that info, but that’s the first I’ve heard of it. We ride at a rack all day long.

Good Deal! I always found them to be very handy, and not so cumbersome.

Did the video link work? I can still upload videos to photobucket, but I can’t play them anymore so I wasn’t sure if it worked or not.

I had a pretty good horsey weekend this weekend. We had a nice ride out in the Sipsey Wilderness Area of Bankhead Forest on Saturday. It was just Shirley and I, but it's kinda nice to do that sometimes. Here's a few pics I took at our lunch break down by the creek...

I know it doesn't look like it, but just for scale, keep in mind that the rocks on the far creek bank are 8-10 feet high...

Miss Hope. She need to lose some weight!...

Looking back up at Hope from the creek bank...

Looking up stream...

A nice peaceful lunch break spot...

Farrier has been here. He just put the shoe back on, and is still coming out on Fri to re-do all the way around.

He said Harley’s foot was looking a lot better, and he was going to change some things up....ooohhhhhh....I told him Harley’s been doing great...he laughed and said he would be fine, that his foot was doing exactly what it was suppose to, and for me not to worry. He wouldn’t do anything to mess him up:)

And here's what I did with the other half of my weekend. I trimmed Truly, Goose, Bluebell and Whirl on Sunday afternoon. This is Miss Bluebell here. She's really good about being still for me, but she'll beat you to death with her tail!

Backing the heels here...

Rockering the toe here...

It wears me out, but I enjoy it, plus I saved myself $120 just in 1 day. So there's that.
