I'm with you, I'm not real sure I like it either. I think I'd ask him to send me the pattern I ordered when ever it comes in, coz what you described sounds a whole lot prettier. If he won't do that then I'd ask him to throw in something else, like some other option or gadget or what ever, for free.
I’m glad the cat didn’t find your hummer:)
Driving the dolly sounds like driving the bobcat...I can’t ever remember which way the feet pedal works the bucket, I always go up when I want down...etc...
So is that the type of work you would have to do if there was a strike? Might be a fun change.?
I was just wondering about the electrolytes because some one on the horse forum said the daily ones were absolutely necessary in Al. I didn’t think you all were that much different from here. I’ve only ever given them occasionally and always just top dress their feed.
I was just curious.

Julia and I just got back from our ride:)...As soon as she got here she informed me she had had to take a tranquilizer...geez. Then she said she was shaking all over because the horse was hard to load. This was the first time I had seen her new one. A little tiny scrawny Arab...looked to me he could have used some groceries, but I tend to keep them too fat. Harley looked like a monster next to him.
We did about 2 hours, and we did some trotting and loping. She didn’t want to but I told her we would go slow, and if she was uncomfortable to holler and we would stop. Well, I think she enjoyed it after a while. She preferred loping surprisingly. The trot was bumpy she said, she doesn’t post or stand.
She went in the front a few times, and in the back too. I had to help her load him, he was just being a brat, as soon as I brought out the lunge whip he jumped right in:). He’s no dummy, if she’s not careful he’ll get the best of her.But I think the horse being so small helps, she’s not so intimidated.
I bought a camera bag to hook to my saddle yesterday, so I could get pictures, but my camera didn’t fit in it, I need to take it back and get another.

I've never known of anybody to use them daily. But then maybe these people ride a whole lot more than most people I know.
As for the strike, I guess the mobile equipment is what I'd be doing if there was one. That's sure better than having to learn to operate one of the mills or an overhead crane. It would be a fun change for a while, if it weren't for having to drive through a picket line of extremely angry people who are facing the loss of their livelyhood if things don't go well. I've never had to do that before and I sure hope I don't have to this time. Things can get realy ugly in situations like that. But what choice do I have. If I don't, I'll lose MY job. Plus, if it happens, it'll be in October, so my trip out to your place would get cancelled and that would just really suck. They're telling everybody that if they schedule vacation trips in October, November or December that they'd better be sure that it was refundable. :o(
Well I’m glad to hear that Julia overcame at least some of her fears (even if she had to take a tranquilizer) and had a good ride. Maybe that’ll give her some confidence and she can gradually do more.
Is this your excuse for there being no pictures ;~)
Sounds like progress anyway on the ride... (shakes head about the tranquilizers) Hobbies are supposed to be fun!
Glad the horse seems to go well on trail, that should help her. Bay too, has a much better canter than his trot, to sit anyway. Good for you, to expand her horizons a little, especially if you know it ended without any major troubles.
Yep, and I'm sticking to it:)
No, really, my old bad is falling apart, has a big hole in it, and I can't risk breaking another camera. And it's way to big for me now, and the strap catches on the saddle horn. I had it on last week when i was riding with Celia, and we were loping, and it got around the horn, and I couldn't get it loose, rather scared me. Anyway, I'll have something soon, so I can take the camera.
Becky
Oh man, I really hate to hear that, on all counts. As it gets closer if you think there is a chance it’s going to happen we could always move the get together up to Sept.
Becky
I did tell Julia, that now that she has seen the horse isn’t going to do anything stupid, she didn’t need the tranks anymore. I think she was a bit spacey, was pretty quiet the whole ride.
Becky
I’m flexible on the timing. I sure hope for the best with your job situation, frog.
Maybe you’ll need to call her tomorrow and see if she even remembers that she went, and that it was fine :~)
Hey, how tall is Pony?
Julia told me she found an ad for a 12 hand Welsh pony that was thinking of getting, and getting rid of this Arab....I think by the time we got back she felt OK with him, but you never know. She went back and forth on her other horse...but she asked me if that would be to small...Well I told her yeah, her feet might drag the ground, and she said that would be OK as long as the horse could carry her.
This new horse is about 14 hands. She looked OK on him, but I don’t think she should go much smaller then that.?
Becky
Well, I’ve never measured her, but I always say she’s about 12. My friend Nancy rides a Welsh pony that’s a little wider and stouter than my pony, but she’s only about a hundred pounds soaking wet.
LOL...well you know this winter she called me a few times to chat, and I told Mack I she sounded drunk. She made a comment to me too one of those times, that I found funny, but also rather shocking that she’d say something like that too me. It came up today, and she doesn’t remember it, so she may forget things when she’s on those things, because I’ll bet that’s why she sounded like she did that time.
Becky
Meaning my friend, of course, not the pony ;~)
Why is she even considering switching horses again. Has this Arab done anything scary to her? Is it the loading? Or is it just Julia being perpetually unsettled?
LOL...I knew that.
It’s just Julia being perpetually unsettled:) She’s a loon, nice, but looney.
Becky
Gotcha ;~)
I just went and asked my boss when the contract expires and he said he thought it would be the end of October, probably the 31st, so I think I’ll be ok for the weekend of the 20th/21st. Whew! I sure hope so! I’d sure hate to miss it and I wouldn’t want you to have to reschedule on my account because other people have probably made plans to come that particular weekend.
They never know if there’s going to really be a strike until almost midnight on the night the contract expires. It’s like they’re playing a giant game of Chicken with each other, trying to see who’ll blink first. It’s just really nervewracking. The last contract negotiation was about 6 years ago and it went down to the wire too. It’s crazy.
As far as a camera bag goes, I prefer a zippered pommel bag for mine (not a horn bag). It keeps it in easy reach, I can put other stuff in there with it, and since it’s tied off on each end to the breast strap D’s it doesn’t flop around all over the place. Just my 2cents worth.
That woman doesn’t need to be changing horses, she needs to be changing BRAINS! ;o)
