She worked him in the round pen, free lunging on voice command only. He understands her :) saying wrong lead and corrects himself, stops before she has finished saying Whoa. He's moving well, really in good shape - didn't even break a sweat and she worked him about 10 minutes each direction at a lope, then rode for about 10 minutes, walk, stop, back up and turning.
He's still a pill in that when we got there, he'd taken off his blanket and dumped it in his water trough and gotten his sleazy off his head and down around his neck :)
Oh, she's ordered him a show balnket and hood in hot pink :) she says real men can wear pink.
Looks terrific! And if he was able to impress even you, I bet he was very good indeed.
I put my stallion in pink too. Chicks... ;~)
Hullo Beaker... good to hear you had a good ride :~)
I pulled one of those lawn rollers behind the mower. Metal container, that you can fill with water. There is a few pot holes in the back yard from horses. I didn't do the neighbors. Jody and Biscuit have taken a few laps in their yards, a few weeks ago. Biscuit broke her halter and got away and Jody escaped when my daughter was bringing them in. Bad horses! We will probably hear about it, when they discover the holes.
Kids took Biscuit and PJ to the fairgrounds to ride today. I stayed home and worked on my front island. The phlox will be blooming soon and I like for the bed to look nice. They are going to a schooling show tomorrow, but I don't think I will go. There is just too much to do around here and I want to get a lot done, so I can enjoy riding too.
Good for Tuffy. His trainer looks tiny beside him, doesn’t she?
That’s great - when are we ever going to get pictures of your rides? Boy, today I envy you your weather - it was cold and windy here all day with snow and or rain predicted tomorrow.
It sure sounds like Harley is getting in really great shape - maybe why he’s getting difficult - it takes a lot more to wear off the edges.
We had a nice day yesterday - not real warm or sunny but no wind and not frigid. Bob and I planted asparagus, onions, strawberrys, potatoes and replanted some Jerusalem artichoke. Then I planted seeds inside, broccoli, califlower, cabbage, brussel sprouts, cucumbers, squash and melons. I’ve got to go out to the breeders tomorrow to help Bob give our mares their shots but then I’m going to try to get some peppers and tomatoes started inside.
Dances in creeks LOL. Those are great pictures.
:) She had asked me if I had a favorite color when we took him up - I said “Hot Pink” - seems like he should be eye catching when he comes off the trailer. Turns out I think pink is her favorite color too.
So far he’s doing great according to the trainer and from what I can see, she’s telling it right. He likes her, behaves her, and works for her.
She is a tiny little thing :) She said you don’t realize how big Tuffy is until you get on him, not only tall but thick.
And a PS. I think that will really work for her in the show ring, that she’s such a little thing and the horse behaves so well.
He’s a big boy. I had not realized how wide he is. I think all of his pics have been from the side before?????
He looks like he’s looking at his pink stockings:’)
LOL - yeh, I think pink might be her favorite color and mine, but I’m not sure it’s his.
When I get a new digital camera. Mine isn’t working. :-/ Luckily they get cheaper and cheaper.
Another beautiful day, then rain tomorrow. Time for more yard work today. If the trails were dry, I would go for a ride.
Hi. Wish I could say I’ve been riding. Truth is I laid down after I got home from church and just got up:’)
