Well, I hope it works out for her...
Sounds like a good buddy for Mack anyhow :~)
$120 is cheap... I kinda wished it was more. Heh... you’ve got the same passive aggressive streak as my husband too :~)
We left it there to be fixed. Might not be able to do it till Tuesday, but it’s gonna rain till then anyhow, so no loss.
So what is passive aggressive?
I wondered if after I posted that post it might have seemed a bit dishonest...but foolish behavior needs to be addressed in the best way you can to make a point.
Becky
That’s not a bad description... but I tend to use it to describe playing games in the background to interfere with people, instead of hitting them head on.
Just kidding Becky... I thought about doing what you describe... taking it to a body shop, who would do a perfect job for a lot more money. But in the end, we decided we didn’t want to just pull the trailer all over town. We’ll just fix it... get him to pay for it, and redo our fence and gates so it’s behind a fence. We’ve wanted it behind a fence anyway.
It's a DISORDER. I think we should be insulted that such a label has been used to describe us:)
Actually, I'm usually Agressive-Agressive:)...I'd have cussed the guy on the spot, normally, but I've figured out that doesn't work very well:)
Becky
LOL...I knew you were kidding. And you’re right, dragging the trailer all over just to get back at the guy would be more of a headache to yourselves, then to that guy.
Becky
Heh, well I wouldn’t have described you as passive-aggressive.
I, however, ~hate~ confrontation, so I find other ways to express myself. ;)
I don’t particularly LIKE confrontation, I just have trouble not getting into them, altho....I’m getting better:)
One time when my kids were in a private school, I got upset about something, that even Mack who exudes common sense said I was right. We went to have a meeting with the principle who was also the pastor of the church the school was in. I was very upset, and expressing my upset very forcefully, not cussing, but forceful:). The guy looked at Mack who was sitting quietly, and said “you need to so something with her”...Mack quietly said, “You’re on your own bud...I can’t do a thing with her when she’s like this, especially when she’s right” looking back, I think Mack got the guys attention more then I did. I've been trying to learn to be more "passive":)Becky
~chuckling~
And just so you know...I had really bad feelings about this guy, it was shortly after that we pulled the kids out and started homeschooling. The following year the guy/pastor/principle/jerk...and what ever else fits was thrown in jail for exposing himself to one of the students at the school who was the child of the lady he was having an affair with.....
Becky
Yikes. It never ceases to amaze me how ~common~ it is for people to have really strange sexual issues. I don’t get it.
I think the problem has gotten common because people aren’t aggressive enough in confronting the perverts:)
This guy should have been stood up in front of a firing squad...he not only destroyed a family, he paraded around as a PASTOR...
Becky
You're probably right. ;~) Back in the old days, Ma Ingalls and several of the other men from town would have gone out to his house and kicked his ass.
err.... ~Pa~ Ingalls
(that’s just my feminist streak slipping in there ;~)
I just had a JW come to my door:\ It’s been a long time since that happened...I thought my aggressive-aggressive approach to them the last few times they came must have finally gotten thru to them, not to come here:)
The time before last I told them I’d listen to all they had to say about their beliefs, but I wanted equal time to share mine with them:) They didn’t go for it.
The last time I had had some come while I wasn’t here and left one of the magazines on my porch, it was still laying there when some more came. As soon as they got out of the car I stepped out and told them to get out of here, and I saw the magazine so I picked it up and threw it out in the yard and told them to stop leaving their trash on my porch...that was over 2 years ago...must have a new crop of door knockers coming up.
Becky
LOL...Ma might have done it too....I would have been there with the men if it had been my kid.
Becky
The padlocked front gate on our place seems to have kept them at bay... I’ve never had any come here. :~)
When we first moved out here, and it was the middle of no where then, I was surprised that we had them come. We’re still pretty much off the beaten path.
A lot of how I deal with them depends on my mood of the day:)...today it was an father/son..the son was pretty young, 13 or so, so I was nice, just said I wasn’t interested as soon as I saw the magazine, and stepped back in the house.
But I’ve learned, that they consider that “persecution”...and it gets them brownie points or something...so they actually don’t mind being rejected.
Becky
Well, I think when you’re in that business, you have to come up with some kind of positive way to spin rejection. ;~)
