I would not worry about that being the reason she changed her mind. Don’t think that. What did the trainer from your barn think of it?

My trainer wasn’t happy, but we really didn’t discuss it in detail. I really didn’t want to talk about it at that point either, really.

I did lose some of my garden

All of the leaves on our Crepe Myrtle bushes turned black and are falling off from the freeze this weekend. They said that my county had 100% loss in fruit production and Clanton AL which is famous for their peaches had an 80% loss due the freeze. We had record breaking temps all over Alabama this weekend. Should be back up to 80 by Thursday.

I sorry to hear about that Beaker. That really is disappointing. I'll bet there is a horse just waiting for you to find him. You will look back then and realize it all happens for a reason, does not make it any easier to swallow now though.

Yes, Friday’s foal will stay with her until he’s old enough to wean. We’ll probably bring him home about July.

Apparently they AI all of their mares. I think it’s to avoid possible injuries and to keep show stallions from thinking every time they see a mare, they need to breed.

I’m so sorry about the horse deal. I sure hope the perfect one comes along for you.

Bummer about your garden. I’m still waiting for you to talk someone into turning that boat over :)

The trainer was telling me that she might switch him to flax or partially to that - which will put on weight/fat but not make him excessively high.

He's on alfalfa and Strategy right now. I think on this we are going to defer to the trainer, she's been there, done that, and hopefully knows what it will take.

She said he's getting worked everyday, and standing tied but his stall doesn't have a run attached and the walls are solid so part of the problem may be he can't see what's going on everywhere and he's bored. He definately needs something to do most of the time or he finds trouble to get into.

Hey Becky! I saw where you were having to cover your garden. Ain’t that a pain! The only things I had in the ground were the pansies and they made it fine all winter so I didn’t worry about them. I moved all the rest of the stuff I bought into the other side of the duplex we live in since it was empty, but I had to put the 12 pots of Caladiums that I had just got out of my MIL’s basement into the storage shed because the pots were just too nasty. I put an old heating pad and a light bulb in there with them and I think they made it fine too. I sure hope this is the end of the freezing temps coz my back won’t take too much more of this moving stuff!

She should have honored her agreement with you. She probably just needs the money and looked at a possible sale 3 months from now or cash in hand. I would guess she probably got less than what you would have offered too. Still isn’t right though. Don’t worry. You will find your horse.

...Frog is off trail riding today so we won't get her input on that but since we use the same farrier I think she would say the same thing.

Yep, I sez the same thing. If anything, he'll be better than he's ever been before, and keep on getting that way.

Ugh... I still have to deal with that issue, and I’ve been putting it off. I never heard from Mark.

Great trail pics Hair! Now your trails look like mine. But it looks like they did a really good job of getting them passable.

We had a great ride on Friday. I’ll post the pics when I get caught up reading the thread.

I understand the economic reasons behind it, and something will come along, I’m more upset that she didn’t honor the agreement. I forgot to mention that she had the horse advertised with the lease-own option. Ah well. I know from experience that there will be other nice horses, this one was just particularly nice! :-)
