We had snow today too. It was sunny in Boston, and then when I got off the train at home it was snowing and by the time that I got to the parking lot the sun was out again. Crazy!
It’s beautiful here :~)
Well, it’s snowing...
Becky
Good grief.... sorry for your poor flowers.
That sounds so cool, unfortunately, I will have been either moving or just moved and I can’t imagine trying to drive from S.C. right after or during a move.
Maybe if all goes well with this trip, we could meet again somewhere else in the next spring or early fall......
Very sorry you can’t make it.
Good morning...haven’t had the courage to go out yet to check the flowers...it’s sooooo cold. I slept in, just didn’t want to come out from under the covers. about 3 more nights before the temps stay above freezing...
I’m wondering, should I uncover then during the day when it will be warmer, or just leave them covered for the duration...that is if they make thru the nights?
Becky
It is just awful here. More snow on top of the 6 inches we have. Very depressing. Colder weather for the next few days too.
Do you have tender flowers planted? The snow will give them some protection, but not if it gets below freezing. I sure hope you don’t lose them. If it warms up, I would undercover the flowers. The covers you have on, just might kill them.
Holy cow! I thought it was bad here but we’ve not got more than a dusting on the ground. Monday our temps go back into the 40’s.
Stay warm and have a Happy Easter!
They aren't kidding when they say "Don't plant anything before Easter"!
It’s going to be in the upper 70s here today :~)
Still getting pretty chilly at night though.
This is record cold weather for this time of year though. Usually it's HOT in Georgia by April.
Well, if it really gets into the 70s, it’ll be a record here. Some warmer days are expected around now... but 70s.. that’s darn near summer :~)
More like Memorial Day here. Although, onions sets and potatoes can be planted before that. Last weekend, when we went to the horse sale, the Amish were out plowing. Sorry about your cold too. Very strange.
The snow was very light last night, didn’t last long, and and didn’t stick.
Yes, I do have tender plants:(, but they made it thru last night. It is suppose to get back up in the 40’s during the day, then back to freezing at night.
Becky
I really don’t ever remember having freezing temps in April.
I was keeping my fingers crossed during March, but thought I was safe now....that’s what I get for thinking:)
Becky
Boy... I dunno.... depends on how much work you want to do, I think. Is it clear plastic, so they are getting some light and warmth even covered?
Well I’m happy for you...that’s great riding weather:)
Did you ever hear from your farrier?
Becky
Nope. If he doesn’t call today and reschedule, I’m calling one of the NB farriers on Monday.
Yes it’s clear plastic. It wouldn’t be that much work really...I just thought if I left them on they would have plenty of heat built up to get thru the nights....But I guess I could uncover them and just put them back on earlier then I did last night. Last night I was expecting it to get that cold and was out in the dark, rain and cold. woe is me:)
