Congratulations on the books! I’ve seen “The Alienist” in the library, but never picked it up. We went to the library after dropping Bill at his Logic class. I got another Willa Cather novel.

It’s cold here, too. Radio said we might get the Winter Weather Event tomorrow night.

Me, too. The boys are going to camp this weekend, and DP and I were planning to go to the Grand Opening of the new orchid conservatory at the botanical gardens in Gastonia. (He grows orchids, although we’ve had some problems recently with Shannon’s chewing the flowers off the stems!) We won’t do that if it’s snowing!

Igor and I went to some botanical gardens when we were on the Oregon coast as campground hosts for the National Forest Service.
I was amazed at the variety of “tropical” plants growing there. Including orchids!

Some orchids to very well in cooler climates. It’s pretty cold in our house in the winter! He bought most of his orchids from a greenhouse in this area, so he chose plants that would do well here without too much extra heat.

That’s good!
When I was working an a camera shop in Studio City (CA) a guy came in with film of his orchids.
When the film was developed, he asked me which photo I liked. The next time I saw him, he gave me an 8” X 12” (full frame) of the photo I had chosen, and signed and dated it. I still have it on my wall!

What a nice thing to do! DP takes pictures of his orchids, but we haven’t printed any.

I love photos. I don’t care who they belong to or what they are of, (Well, within the boundaries of good taste, anyway!) as there is always a story behind them.
Usually quite interesting, too!

"DP offerred James a piece of chocolate if hed swallow his medicine. He did!" James might be comfortable in a Skinner box.
It beats Shröhdinger's box by a long shot ... I think.

I hate the cold. I've become spoiled here. I dislike too much cold and too much heat -- especially humid heat (though my nose rebels at dry heat).

I do not like dry heat. Anything between 60 and 85 is fine for me.

50 and 75 here, though my tolerance for dampness is better at lower temps than high.
But I guess this why you, 'Face and I are in our respective locations.
