Jets almost pulled it off — onside kick conversion, forced OT, but the Deflatriots won.

Their path to 8-8 is looking more like fantasy football.

I was especially impressed by the unsportsmanlike conduct 15 yard penalty levied on Detroit's special teams. Not sure I'd ever seen that done before. Hey, the Chiefs' war cry is echoing at Wembley Stadium right now, hilarious.

Caldwell *may* survive the season, but it's a safe bet that, unless he gets massive improvement out of the new O-coaches, they'll be toast. They've got a bye week coming up, that gives them two weeks to get their game together. Oh joy, another KC TD.

One of my coworkers, an arch fan, says he's now pulling for them to gett the #1 draft pick -- watch them blow that too.

Y’know, the cheeseheads were 6-0 before they played Denver. When Detroit were already 0-2 when they played the Broncos.

The Broncos remain perfect after exposing Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Here’s how Denver held Green Bay to just 77 passing yards... Denver’s surprisingly lopsided 29-10 victory.

The Ford heiress had that press conf a couple of weeks ago, regarding the firings, and that the Lions haven't given up on the season. Yah. Anyway, if they run the table and win their remaining games (including a second defeat of the Bears, and two games against GB, including today's) the Lions would still need some help to become 2015's playoff skidmark. The upshot is, unless they maintain their lock on the draft pick, there's no reason to watch. Hear that, Fords? No reason to watch.

A couple of weeks ago I thought I heard a sportscaster say that 22 teams were below .500, a record, probably due to the fact that, until recently, we had something like five or six undefeated teams. Currently there are 16 below .500, including the entire AFC South, and 4 teams at .500. In the NFC North, the Packers lost their cherry a few weeks ago, and the Vikings have matched their record.

Lions 18, Packers 16, in Lambeau -- first road victory there for the Lions since 1991 -- regardless of what else happens, this has been a successful season.

I think Jason Hanson has his phone off the hook, because he knows the Lions will be calling him.

Did the kicker miss anything besides the PA attempt? At that point I was yelling at the TV that it was time to put him on a bus back home, get someone else to fill in.

He missed TWO PATS, the second one would have put the game pretty much out of reach.

Heh, the head coach sacked kickers before, he’d do it again. But I don’t think he will. Overall, the team played well, and without Suh to stomp on someone and getting ejected, thus cratering what had been Detroit’s very effective defense, not surprised they nudged ‘em, not surprised that it was a close score, and won’t be surprised if they have a funeral for that monkey they’ve been carrying around on their backs for decades.

BTW, that comeback win by the Dolphins today drops the Eagles out of the hunt (for now at least). I think Miami played its better ball early in the season. The Eagles drop to 4 and 5, and the uneven way the Saints have played suggests they won’t make the playoffs, or if they do, they won’t last long. Of course, the playoffs are often surprising. :’)

Peyton broke Favre’s all-time passing yards record while throwing 4 picks and getting benched. That’s hilarious, and by itslef in its own right belongs in a record book.

Tampa Bay beat the Cowboys, Dallas’ seventh straight loss. Meanwhile, the last-place Seahawks are behind by two scores (last I checked), but it really can’t be classified as a blowout. The Cards have had the ball twice as much time, gain yards, come up short. But the Seahawks’ defense must be getting tired.

at halftime:

Arizona (6-2), Seattle (4-4) TV: NBC 2nd QTR, 0:16

Bye week: Atlanta, Indianapolis, San Diego, San Francisco

New Orleans 14, Washington 47

Minnesota 30, Oakland 14

Kansas City 29, Denver 13

New England 27, NY Giants 26 (actually the Giants scored a touchdown, but the refs took it away, what a joke officiating has made of itself)

Mon. Nov. 16 - 08:30 PM EST (ESPN) Line

Houston (3-5), Cincinnati (8-0)

Wow, the Cards/'Hawks game is gettin' wild! I've got this post on deck as it were, waiting for the outcome, and now that "tired" Seahawks defense has come up big twice in three minutes, watch out! [some time passes] Okay, Cards back on top by 3. Could have been one, but Petey had them try 2 pt conversions twice and blew it both times.
