Would someone Freep mail me or post the info for the Fantasy League?
I guess they went south to I-10 to avoid the weather.
ping and more on this story.........
According to Border Patrol officials at the checkpoint, the hauler struck a motor home, which then struck another 18-wheeler, that then struck a second tractor-trailer.
Jesse Bear, a truck driver who witnessed the scene, told ABC-7 TV in El Paso the tractor-trailer struck a motorhome in the rear. Bear added there were "a few other vehicles in the wreck, but everything was crushed together."
According to ABC-7 reporter Darren Hunt, the front part of the rig's cab was completely torn off.
Emergency radio transmissions indicated that at least one person was rushed to Thomason Hospital with serious injuries. Emergency officials add there were three other persons transported to local hospitals. Emergency crews with Culberson and Hudspeth counties in Texas, and the city of Fort Hancock, Texas, all responded to the scene of the accident.
The hauler was only transporting the No. 6 racecar. Driver David Ragan was not involved in the wreck.
THEY'RE STILL CHANGING THINGS.........
Past Champions Limited To 6 Provisional Berths in Cup: NASCAR announced today an update to the past champions provisional rule in the Nextel Cup Series for 2007. Beginning this season, a past champions provisional may be used by an eligible driver a maximum of six times over the course of the season. In addition, a team with a past champion eligible driver may only use this provisional a maximum of six times during a season. Previously, there was no limit on usage of the past champions provisional over the course of the 36-race season. The provisional gives the eligible driver the 43rd and final starting position in the race field. "As NASCAR seeks to place more emphasis on competition, we have decided the time is right to limit the number of provisionals allowed, said NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton. We believe this revision brings the provisional policy in line with the continued growth of the sport.(NASCAR PR)(1-31-2007)
Don't know if they cleared the weather running on 10. Some 280 miles(?) were closed last week or the week before due to ice. Has still been ice and snow in the forecasts.
Seems some are complaining and other's don't mind.
Hope the driver of the #6 hauler is going to be ok, that sucks.
They said the change for past Champion's provisional was coming. Sounds fair to me.
Dale Jarrett.
Seems to me to be pointed towards DJ since the other two don't run full time.
Smoke didn't like the fast speeds either. Mikey said he liked it, probably because he didn't go as fast as the others. :)
That's what Mikey gets for kissing Brains Butt like the fan boy that he is...
It would not be right for one driver to keep using "the back door" to get a spot in the field. Especially this year. There are going to be several PO'd sponsor's as it is.
Going to be interesting to watch how it all shakes out.
Besides, the boy won't need 'em......
Well, maybe a couple. :)
I was really surprised when I started reading / hearing reports about the track surface. Wondering if that was on purpose or a "doh!"
Several of the truck drivers bitched about some bumpiness between turns 1 and 2, different than what the Cup drivers are saying. Already reading stuff that this was by design, Atlanta, etc. JG was talking about "Humpy bumps", etc.
I think the Biff said it best, "there is so much force going into turn 1 that it is moving the tire sidewall an inch and a half into contact with suspension parts."
If race day is warmish to hot, I wonder how the asphalt will hold up?
And Tony Stewart whines too friggin' much. Which race was it last year, Daytona or Talledaga?, "if they don't stop the bump drafting there will be dead bodies all over the track!"
Ok, that's nice, Tony. Now shut up and drive.
Did you check out that "bumping" in Iraq video? Wild.
Did you read that they fixed the "Dale" bump at TMS?
Of course it's because he's the favorite!! lol TBD still means to benefit Dale. I will say it in case someone pops in here to say it........cause I don't mean it. :)
The Biff has been to the infield care center twice on this new surface out of two times practicing there. The first time he was unconscious and separated his shoulder.
Here's an update on the 6 hauler with two videos out of El Paso.

Its Day 2 of the Las Vegas test session, and Ive got about 15 minutes to go before the lunch break is over. Ive been fiddling around on my laptop during the lunch hour while eating a Wendys cheeseburger and fries. Greg Biffle just stopped by. He said he wanted to say hi and see how things were going, but I think he really wanted to see if the food on our hauler was better than the food on his. I know that trick. Ive practiced it myself. My guess is he wasnt impressed since he left empty-handed. Right after he left, the NASCAR medical lady came in and asked if Ive had my physical. I think I actually have an appointment tomorrow. And now Im just chilling out in the lounge of the truck, killing time before practice starts back up. Hopefully we can get through these last few hours without any major incident and get outta here. I cant wait to get back home. Ready to sleep in my own bed again. Yall taker easy, and have a good week. Junior.
*******
Ack junk food again!
Thanks. Seems like a bad place with the number of deaths over the past few years.
Looks like Nascar's website is closed temporarily for redecorating.......should re-open today.
Also, the #6 hauler driver was listed as critical, but I can't find any updates.
I'm off to work.
Stay dry!
