How much extra is the Nascar package? Did not see a price.
Cable In-Car package for Cox is an extra $90 / yr. The Cable clowns here are really starting to piss me off for the TV side of the house. They do a lot of their maintenance (read lose signal) on Sat and Sun mornings. Not early. They wait until about 9 or 10 am to do it. Must be an anti-Nascar idiot in charge.

if you go into the buy now page and scroll through the packages its in there as a service choice.
https://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/wizard/buildYourSystem3.jsp?_requestid=123665
the article I read said it would be 99.99 a season, and they are going to need to sell 250,000 orders to break even, but for no comercials I think it's a deal...
anyway to pre buy it's 2 pmts of 39.99 for the package besides the monthly...

Will have to check it out. Cable is the most stable, as far as interference, down here.

WCG, absolutely great on Ricky Rudd w/RYR. He can't do anything but help and provide some "experience" for the young ones. They are going to need it.
The boy's effort for his "role model" project...a tad big so you can see some of the details, hopefully. Besides, you are no longer 'slow link' challenged, are you? lol

Lot's of work from the little guy on this
He has a total of 5 minutes for the presentation. 3 minutes to talk about his hero, then 2 minutes to play this....
(Tribute to Dale Jr)
The boy said he is going to stress two things about "his driver", what he has had to overcome in being in his Dad's shadow and his involvement with The Victory Junction Gang and Make a Wish Foundation. His lead in to the video will be along the lines of..."This is every Nascar drivers bad dream come true...but they won't hesitate to do it again next Sunday! That's what my guy does. He never quits no matter how bad it gets!"
I spent about 3 hours going through YouTube clips, looking. Knowing that the school system totally freaks out on anything alcohol related (he can wear a Dale Jr shirt as long as it does not say Budweiser or show the Bud crown, etc.) Tyring to find a clip that minimized the beer stuff...
He said his teacher for this class is a Jr fan, so we will see.
I'm not a CW fan, by any means, but the song was cool!...listen to the words...
During my YouTube search, I also found this......you must read the video description FIRST!!!!!.....then watch....
(One to keep...)

That young man did a fabulous job on his project.
I'm hoping somehow Jr can see that he is a role model for young people. I will pass that on and see what happens.
I give it an A++ :)

One more thing on JJ
The Citrus County Chronicle reported that Johnson was horseplaying during the Mike Hampton Pitching In Celebrity Golf tournament at the Black Diamond golf course near Crystal River Florida. The report said Johnson was lying on the roof of the cart and slipped off when his playing partner hit a small berm.

The report said Johnson was lying on the roof of the cart and slipped off when his playing partner hit a small berm. Obvious lack of adult supervision. And alcohol.
Kids!
The boy said his presentation went pretty good. The teacher did not want to hear all of the video, though - only ran the crash part. :(
Some Nascar fan she is! lol
He also said to tell you that 2 other kids had Dale Jr as their role model...."but mine was the best looking, by far. And I was the only one to have a video!"

I'm sure his was the best presentation since he put so much work into it. How did you present the video in the class?
I'm happy to hear that Jr is a role model for other kids.
He is going to be part of a charity event this evening.

Drivers connect with fans at Stocks for Tots, legends reunion
DAVID POOLE
The Charlotte Observer
One tradition continues tonight with Stocks for Tots in Mooresville, and let's hope that another one began Saturday afternoon.
Stocks for Tots is an annual gathering of racers and race fans in "Race City USA" that since 1989 has raised around $400,000 for causes that fight child abuse and collected more than 30,000 Christmas toys to be distributed to children in the region.
This year, the event moves from the Lakeside Business Park to the Charles Mack Citizen Center in downtown Mooresville. Entertainment starts at 6 and doors open for autographs at 7. Admission is a minimum $10 cash donation or a new, unwrapped toy worth at least $10.
I've gone to Stocks for Tots for, I guess, 10 years now and sat alongside people like Buddy Baker and Ryan Newman and watched fans come by with suitcases and duffle bags full of stuff they want signed. I've kidded Baker that when he started driving his cars must have had stone wheels, but danged it every year people don't come in carrying models of cars he drove back when he was a "young gun."
It's always good to see some of today's biggest stars come to an event like Stocks for Tots and give their time, which is for a modern racer at NASCAR's top levels about the most precious thing he has, to the cause and to the fans.
The guys who're scheduled to show up tonight, like Newman, Kurt Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Greg Biffle and many more, seem to understand that signing autographs is more than just part of their job. It's a way for them to connect with the fans, people who will remember them long after they've parked their cars in the garage for the final time.

How did you present the video in the class? They have a "presentation" station to use, run by a PC for audio, video, projection, etc. Trick setup.

Neighbors Fight RCR Engines Roar
Monday, 11 Dec 2006, 10:42 PM EST
DAVIDSON COUNTY (WGHP) -- Revving up the engines that power cars driven by Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton and Clint Bowyer have never been a problem in the Davidson County community of Welcome.
A few months ago, Richard Childress Racing cleared 10.3 acres of forest between its buildings and nearby neighborhoods for expansion. Those trees muffled the high horsepower sounds coming from the racing shop.
People living on the other side of that former forest say the noise has become unbearable. When they start up the engines, you can compare it to going to a race track, said Nat Lloyd, who moved to Welcome eleven years ago because he liked the quiet neighborhood. Other neighbors say the engine noise is so it rattles their windows.
Monday night, the Davidson County Commissioners granted RCR a zoning request that green lights the expansion. That is not the decision some of the neighbors wanted to hear.
An RCR spokesman told the commissioners the company plans to plant cypress along the back property line to create a buffer. Bill Patterson told the commission they wanted to be a good neighbor, and have spent a half-million dollars on reducing noise and will do more.
Neighbors told the commissioners they want a sound reduction wall built along the property line.
County Commissioner Dr. Max Walser approved the request, but warned RCR Im going to be very disappointed if you dont do something about adding this wall.
The rezoning request was unanimously approved.

California has spread East. I was at a planning commission meeting last night with our project to enlarge the Fellowship Hall. Not one objection from the neighbors but a couple of the commissioners had to try their hand at increasing the cost to the church but it went went nowhere.
Next stop is the Design Review and that is where the socialist get their pound of flesh...
