That's exactly the kind of thinking that convicts (literally, or figuratively in the media) the wrong person. For some reason, LE can get tunnel vision on a case, and flat out refuse to investigate other leads. It's not that they're lazy exactly--sometimes they'll manufacture what they need to make it fit--but it's a bad way to do investigations.
