I agree. I never seen a board over there closed as much. A couple of weeks ago, there were no fewer than 8 locked threads on just the first page of it.
6 off-duty white cops beat up a black man, knock him down and kick him in the head, while calling him "N___" and "boy".
Two of them get charged with simple assault (no touching!)
Meanwhile (as noted at Friends of Duke Univ. :
http://www.newsobserver.com/102/story/466569.html
Cary Police arrested one teenager and were seeking two others Tuesday in connection with a racially motivated assault near Lochmere Lake.
(snip)
The three suspects are white; the victim is black.
Police think the suspects played blaring music with racially-charged lyrics while the victim and his cousin were fishing at the boat ramp on Lochmere Drive in Cary. The suspects are accused of then pushing the victim and telling him to leave the area since he did not belong there, even though the victim is a Lochmere resident, police said.
Luongo was released from Wake County jail after he posted $2,500 bond.
I tend to agree.
Walk me through this, maggief.
Is riding a pinto pony vulgar? My curiousity is overcoming my need to be blissfully ignorant.
Via google search ...
Pinto was Brazilian slang for "tiny male genitals".
The term actually comes from the disastrous Ford Pinto and how it failed miserably in Brazil. I think I can see that one!
It ain't no Porsche. ;)
Ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! LOL!
By my count, the Herald Sun has been called on 3 separate incidents of journalistic mischief in the last couple of days:
1. The flat out lie that Cheek said not to vote for him.
2. Reporting DNA evidence as "new", when in fact Joe Cheshire told us this information over 3 months ago.
3. Not revealing that Irving Joyner is monitoring the case for the North Carolina NAACP. They were trying to pass his opinion off as coming from a disinterested party.
Liestoppers is also going to pursue this.

BTW, check out their latest poster-- Coalition of Durham Animals United Against Nifong
Nifong's on the Animal Control Board because he wanted to be DA and his community service bona fides were and are near zero:

OTOH Cheek is very involved in the community:

This was on Friends of Guke
May have been posted here, but it is too cute pass over
No. She doesn't ban AV supporters. She only bans supporters of the lacrosse players and she just locks them out without telling them the reason. I haven't been banned from there but I haven't posted alot there recently. I broke out of the CW Gulag and came over here.
Guke = Duke
I need to clean my keyboard.
Well, it took people a while to find their way out west I guess. Southern Cal was founded in 1880. Originally we were the Fighting Methodists or Fighting Wesleyans. I have no idea why. I'm Catholic, myself. The Trojan nickname got it's start in 1912 when an LA Times sports writer described USC athletes as "fighting like Trojans". And the rest is history.....
One academic's view of the educational options for now:
1. Duke is smart if they allowed the two players to quietly finish the spring term.
2. Duke requires 34 courses for graduation. [Duke is somewhat of an easy university as it requires fewer courses of students but claims they are tougher.]
3. A student who has already enrolled in Duke can transfer two courses automatically from what I read. From the Duke webpage:
"You are allowed transfer credit for two courses taken at another four-year accredited college or university in the United States after you have matriculated at Duke."
4. Duke could and perhaps must let a suspended student take and transfer back more credits.
Finally all of this is likely moot. Surely Seligmann and Finerty will transfer. Seligmann may yet end up at Harvard where if you are going to go to a PC school you should go because of the value of the degree. Finnerty too probably has good options.
"Duke requires 34 courses [read: credits] for graduation."... lordy, just try to explain that to an insurance company that is looking for 16 units, not 4 credits.....
ANYWAY: I do agree that "where" you went to school is almost more important than what your degree or GPA were. I hope these guys are able to maintain status, if not move up, when it comes to where they obtain their degrees.
Somewhere today in the midst of trying to find a Duke webpage that explained their system of credits, I ran across the University's Code. I'll see if I can find it again, and try to decipher the school's rules! Let's see if they are even allowed to continue their educations at Duke under the circumstances. (This may have to wait until manana [tilde over the first "n".]
forgot my end parend....
Most likely s/he/they closed it because s/he/they are whore-supporting lefties whose only defense to the evidence against the whore is to shut it up by closing the threads. It's obvious from their favoritism on their political boards that the CTV moderators are a bunch of card-carrying lefties.
place mark, since abb has dleted me from the ping list :( LOL
