Those 'in the known' as far as my 'feelers' are detecting
REALLY DO KNOW OF !!!!SOMETHING!!!! VERY, VERY, VERY UNTHINKABLY HORRIBLE to occur in 2012.
And I have been unable to get even the faintest hint as to what ball park it's in--whether war, natural disaster, quake, meteor or whatever. They won't budge. They just keep repeating that "You do NOT want to know."
I do not think China will stay out of it. They may delay somewhat entering the fray. But they certainly expect to be king of the hill at the end. They feel it is their due to be king of the hill and that the next century will be the CHINESE century.
Thankfully, God has other plans.

It may have been point out by others by now but you jam the receivers on Earth not the transmitters in some other solar system so looking down is exactly what's needed.
OTOH, I really don't think NRO is going to waste their battery power on jamming a SETI signal. I'm betting that the supposed SETI signal is really just an NRO downlink. Probably wideband and certainly encrypted.

They had to have him on the last time to explain what some dingbat reporter said about SETI finding
some signals, which were nothing more than anomalies that SETI classified as "candidate signals" that deserved
a second, and more thorough look and analysis.
At that time, S@H had a page that you could look at all the candidates, along with the names of the
crunchers that "found" them.
I think I was credited with about a dozen myself, last time I checked, before SETI changed.
SETI suppressing the discovery of Alien signals is tantamount to Lindberg flying the Atlantic, then not telling anyone he did it, and getting all the people of Paris who were at le Borgie Field when he landed to join him in the conspiracy to suppress his own achievement.
If you are going to suppress the discovery, by try to discover it in the first place?
