Greetings all. Got back from the reunion a bit ago.Had to go to the Beach afterwards, to renew mine and my sister's season passes(I did NOT really want to do this, but she did, and I did say I might do so, since I have the extra money right now). Well--it took over 90 MINUTES to get them renewed--it was THAT crowded!!Me and my mother waited in the car, while my sister, who loves the sun and heat, waited under the canopy for our passes to be processed.
I will be working with Chuck at my "other job" tomorrow. It will likely be an easy week at my regular T-Thurs job-they are still on vacation, and I will most likely be wiht the road guy, or there alone.
Friday and Saturday-- I will be going on the "127 corridor" sale--also known as "the worlds longest garage sale". It is a lot of fun, and I have found some good things there, over the last few years that I have been going!!

How goes it tonight?
The past two evenings were a bit different than expected, so my husband and I haven't had time to focus on this. My brother came from out of town and rather unexpected, so we wound up entertaining.

I will be in Auburn(Jemian) & then to NC.. one night each place. Ridiculous for the distance...
Maybe when I visit my brother in Ok city (if I travel alone) I can make a side trip to DFW area.. looking at fall for that.
And yes, the Mexican would be great or cook at your place & show me the wild felines! Bet you make better margaritas than most restaurants!

Nice you could be with your brother. Surprise visits are fun (if you have adequate time to shovel a path!)
I got half way to the concert & was involved in a major monsoon. Pulled into gas station for gas & all the power in area went out (including the gas pumps).. I was driving on fumes at that point.
Waited half hour.. couldn't even see the road. tried to call folks but the cell phones were out also. Decided when it broke a bit I would go back home rather than drive the next 15 miles I know it would have been moved inside to the high school. which actually would be more comfortable with wonderful seats & air conditioning.. but just had a feeling it was wrong to go on.
Did make it to another gas station en-route home but bummer to pay 25 cents more a gallon .. so i just got a little..
I am shocked we have power here. It was out at least once as the computer rebooted

I skipped the mixologist course at culinary school. It wasn't required to graduate, took 2 weeks, and the teacher was a b!tch. And my focus was on food. (He typed, chewing on a slice of cold pizza).
But I would be proud to cook a meal for you. And I've got the gear to make them mexican slushies. ;>)

Sounds like a crazy night. I would have been upset but would have turned around, too.
I have been feeling a bit "off" since my brother was here. That sixth sense tells me that I will probably never see him again and it was just hard to deal with.

Oh no!!!
estranged? or is he ill?
what's up?

Now if I can only get Chuck to understand that God DOES ndeed care about each and every one of us. He believes that "God does not have time to worry about us here on Earth.".Of course--he also thinks the bible is mainly an allegory, and not really the inspired word of God himself. He also thinks that "a bit of this religion and a bit of that one" is better than settling on one faith that a person feels comfortable with.
The lord has really put me with some needy people(as far as their salvation is concerned!!)

Do you think the mixologist class had actually anything you could not pick up on your own?
I was 21 & was a "mixologist".. NO training, no drinking background but the owner figured I was smart enough to figure it all out (and I was).. took the books home & made a ton of money w/tips.. so I guess I did something right..
Started teaching school & made 1/3 of the money & had double the problems. so much for the value of a college degree?

plant the seeds.. all you can do. agitating sometimes just is that.. he will have a need & will seek you out.. it happens to those of us who are Christians all the time.
People don't want to hear about God, moral values etc.. but when their life starts to crumble, they panic & go to those who they feel have the answers..

I think it will be due to a little bit of both.
It's that stinkin sixth sense that flared up. The "feeling" that I got was just "this is teh last time" and so I did my best to make the best of it and happy memories. I made sure that one of my sons came over with his wife and baby so my brother could see them and that was about it.
To: DollyCali
Do you think the mixologist class had actually anything you could not pick up on your own? Actually, yes. She was a gritch, but she was good. Chef Hodges didn't hire anyone that wasn't tops in their field.
I just didn't want to deal with her in a school setting.
If you recall, culinary school was right after 9/11, and I had bigger fish to fry. Uncle needed cooks, not barkeeps.
I could have learned something from her. I'm sure. But our nation's children were going to war, and I needed to be there to cook for them, and be daddy when they needed a daddy.

yes, I remember you sharing this. I know I avoided many classes in undergrad school I wanted due to personality conflicts with profs. I just didn't want the hassle.. I am still that way.. In the "fight & flight" scheme of things, I just "fly away" as Enya would sing...or no, she sang "sail away"... well whatever.
I am working on the food & wine I prepared for 6 at the picnic at concert & never materialized. I cant eat the food (dastardly meat) but am doing well with the wine!...
