Next time they come down here or to our place, we have to make sure Cisco can come! He'd like Tricksey :~)

Tricksey's a runner! :~\ And she doesn't yet know her name, she sent us on a couple of entertaining chases, so we tied Tricksey to a piece of driftwood to slow her down :~)

Why does this thing keep following me?

Tricksey and Homer like to play :~D

Gidget playing as usual :~) Aly down by the water...

And Homer wanting the stick Becky is playing with :~D

Saw an unusual sight on the way home... A forest fire North of Mt. Rainier... probably on the east slopes, but visible from the west side.

Or there's a new volcano... one of the two :~)

A couple more pictures of kids and dogs and beaches, now that I've been able to look through and crop them :~D

Here's a pretty good portrait of Tricksey soakin' wet :~D

And here she is looking like a pit bull :~D

And judging from the momentum on Homer and the lack of hold on the ground she has, I think she went down on this one :~)

And here's Homer and Aly.... Aly really likes Homer.

Heh...yeah, I'm guessing that third photo captures the moment before the "ooof!"...

Tricksey doesn't look all that much smaller than Cisco. Bet they'd have fun together.

They would - next time, we have to get them together :~D... maybe they'll come here. She's fast like him when she wants to be. Tying her to the driftwood helped - She couldn't get too far that way :~D

Great pictures!

Tricksey looks like a wolf in some of those shots. :-D

And poor Homer. Looks like he's thinking "OK. Who left me with the kid?"

We'll plan to come down weekend after next. I'd like to see what you've done to kitty-proof the squirrel feeder - in person.

For the Kitty.

Is that catnip? What do you do with it?

Yep. Catnip.

Miss Kitty likes it dried....sometimes. I believe she likes store-bought better.

I like to make catnip tea sometimes before bed. A cup of catnip/lemon balm tea makes me really sleepy!

How do you give it to her? Does she actually eat it or just rub on it?

When we'd get catnip mice from the store, our old kitty used to just rub his face on them, but he never chewed them or ate the catnip.

She does both. The commercial kind comes all chopped up in flakes. If I put a little pile of it in a dish...well, more likely a plastic snap-on lid..she'll chomp on it for a while. If I put it on the carpet, she'll roll in it. I've got a Ziploc bag of commercial catnip that she likes to lie on.

Interesting... if she were out would she nibble or lie in the plant? I'm thinking about whether I should plant some here.

Probably lie in it. You have to put the plants out when they're big enough to survive a cat roll or two. I used to have neighbor cats come over all the time for a roll in the 'nip.

Evening, those are great pictures. I'd hazard a guess that the doggies had a great time on the beach.

Tricksey is quite a dog, Congrats Ruthy, you can pick 'em.

That is quite a tide you have there.

Each of our cats reacted differently to it, some dug it, some ignored it.

hehehe....once I put a few catnip sprigs in Miss Cat's carrier when I took her for a checkup. The offic cat kept trying to get in the room... you could see this paw stretching in under the door. Finally the office person came in and wanted to know if I had catnip in there. I gave the office cat a sprig or two.

The tide swings about 14 feet from high to low most summer days, I think :~D

We have the wedding cam gif from the wedding day that show the tide high-low-then-high again so you can see :~D

My cats will eat some of it, but mostly just roll it in and get goofy. The loose stuff from the store seems to be the strongest, though it's messy. Somtimes I'll throw some down and then vacuum up what they didn't nibble after they've lost interest.

This is Tam on catnip. Frightening, isn't it?
