Is Ramiusis Ramius' evil twin? ;-)
LOL! Yes, he's the one who won't let me have a dog.
Good twin Ramius would let me.
I keep seeing all these really adorable dogs, but Ruthy won't get me one. :-(
Heh... I'm gonna let you two work this one out. ;~)
I can't believe you!
Why don't you call that lady in Mukilteo with the Golden/Cocker mix then? :-P
Well, ~you~ were supposed to find a stray and offer it to us. That's what we were planning on happening. :-D
We entertained the notion of dognapping Homer, but didn't want ecurbh to show up in cami-clothing and a large weapon to get him back.
ecurbh in a camisole?
[shudder]
oh, you meant....never mind...
Thanks for sharing that mental image. :-/
I promised not to post ~the picture~ anymore.
When the time is right, the dog will appear. ;-)
I confess to visiting the shelter more times than I admitted here. Though...Cisco was there from the beginning. Poor baby... I still don't know why he was there as long as he was (from his paperwork, something like two months), considering they aren't a no-kill kind of place. Someone liked him, I guess.
And thinking about that side of things just makes me sick to my stomach. There are plenty who aren't as lucky.
hehehehe....
It's unnecessary. We all have it seared into our memories. ;-)
I know it. So heartbreaking.
But from what I've seen so far, good dogs are usually snatched up quickly. It's the ones with behaviorial issues that take longer to get placed.
And it is importart that it be the ~right~ dog since we have kids and will be visiting folks with other critters from time to time.
Heh...I note that you post this right after my wonder at why Cisco was there so long... ;-)
You know, I really don't understand it in his case. He was sweet and friendly and no wilder than many of the other dogs there, especially considering the tight quarters and the noise - and considerably more attentive. He did look kinda scruffy, and maybe that was part of it. I'm not complaining...I just don't get it!
He's learned two (useless but fun) new tricks in the last week: "crawl" and "turn around" (he spins around once).
I think that border collies have a reputation for being insanely hyper and folks shy away from that.
It's a mystery to me. Border collies are really sweet.
The border I had for awhile that I found by the road wasn't hyper, but he was obsessively ~focused~ in exactly the way Cisco isn't. He followed and stared and me ALL THE TIME. I don't even think he blinked :~)
Cisco's definately hyper, but he's not rough and hyper, he doesn't knock you down.... Although he could use another dog just like him to play with all day :~) Homer's good, but he poops out.
Since Gidget's been on Rimadyl, she's been playing with Cisco a little more... sortof :~)
I have that memory which is seared seared in me....
Maybe that's it. "Border Collie" isn't mentioned on any of his paperwork, but it's pretty obvious, I think. Except for the ears and the shorter fur, he's all Border.
I'm curious how my sister's puppy will turn out, looks and personality wise. She's more German Shepherd than border collie, though.
*snort*
Jenjis Kahn, indeed.
