You are younger than me. They are from the 80's. I loved them and they did have a radio following. They are from LI.

Has anyone mentioned Pearl Jam's Ten? That was a pretty solid album, as far as the 90s were concerned. I haven't seen it mentioned, but yeah it was a solid album. I always thought that Pearl Jam was much better than Nirvana, though I know many will disagree vehmently.

I liked Kurt Cobain more as a person than I did Eddie Vedder. He seemed genuine. Also, we were born the same year, and he died the year I got married (which was some kind of sign... LOL... but the Spin obit-cover certainly freaked me out...)
...but, anyway, I preferred Pearl Jam, STP, AIC, and Soundgarden's music to Nirvana's. The odd song here and there was good, but overall it didn't do much for me.

Alice in Chains was an AMAZING band. They may be going into the studio with former Damageplan singer/Halford/Diesel Machine guitarist Pat Lachman on vocals.
I thought Pearl Jam was almost as bad as Nirvana, who couldn't play their way out of a paper bag.
Soundgarden's Louder Than Love and Badmotorfinger were great! Superunknown they whored themselves into commericalism. "Spoonman" is one of the dumbest songs ever written.

They are from the 80's Lol. Don't be knocking my 80's metal cred. Can YOU name all the Judas Priest drummers? :)
I grew up on Maiden, a LOT of Motorhead, even more Priest, Slayer, Testament, Megadeth, Sabbath. As I am typing this, I have Overkill in my stereo.

NO
I loved Lemmy Killmeister but I did not listen to Motorhead. I was more the Judas Pries and Michael Schenker and Yngwie (Ingve) Malmsteen type. I also was a groupie for a NJ Band called TT Quick!

Spoonman was a little lame, but not enough to run screaming to the player to skip it (LOL), and I loved that disc. Chris Cornell could sing the phone book and I'd be happy.
Hey, different strokes...

I was reading an interview with Lemmy:
Q: "Lemmy, is it true you taught Sid Vicious to play bass?"
Lemmy: "NOBODY could teach Sid Vicious to play bass."

I just hated Superunknown. I thought Cornell was at the height of his vocal powers on Badmotorfinger.

Michael Schenker THERE is an anti-drug commerical. If he could have laid off the cocaine and Jack Daniel's he could have been one of the best ever. He is still great but not as good as he was.
Sad really.

I saw a cover story on him in a guitar mag a while back. It told about how he got into drugs and alcohol and lost everything.
