Avery should have simply said, "The Buck Stops Here" instead of throwing his own player under the bus.

It's incredible how the bad calls that favored the Mavs are being completely ignored.
2 crucial bad calls went against the Heat in the final 2 minutes.

They might.
But the fact that they could hang with the Heat without Stackhouse on Sunday night has got to scare Pat Riley to death.

Cuban is about to hire Dan Rather. That fact alone is enough to make me root for the Heat.
To: TruthWillWin
That's a silly reason to support a basketball team, but, to each his own.

Perhaps it is but until I heard about Cuban considering hiring Rather I liked both teams equally.

NBA would have been very happy if this had been a 4 game sweep by the heat.
That's a crock! Sweeps are bad for ratings! This series is going 7 games because the NBA will be happy with the ratings of a game 7.
BTW...Stern had nothing to do with "letting Cuban buy the Mavs". Like every other professional sport, the other NBA owners "let Cuban buy the Mavs."

The mavs are a small market team, the heat are a big market team and this series has done crap for the ratings, NASCAR rainouts have drawn higher ratings then some premier basketball games.
The mavs are about as liked by Stern as head lice, and Cuban about as much as cancer.
Stern probably thinks about the benefits of a 7th game the way someone waiting for a cancer result does.
BTW...Stern had nothing to do with "letting Cuban buy the Mavs". Like every other professional sport, the other NBA owners "let Cuban buy the Mavs."
Sterns opposition in the past, has kept more then one franchise from being sold, he has enough of the owners votes and several rules of authority to prevent someone from buying a team.
Long story short, if David Stern doesn't want you to buy a NBA, your not buying an NBA team.
In all 4 leagues, in the last 25 years, no team has been bought without support of the league commish.

This is why I want the Mavs to ultimately triumph. David Stern having to hand the trophy to Mark Cuban. It would be immortal.

Dallas melted down the last couple of games. No amount of NBA home cooking (which does exist) was responsible for the end of Game 3. Game 4 was an out and out disaster for Dallas. And Game 5 was winnable up until the Josh Howard's "WTF" moment.
I believe the Mavs will win game 6 and game 7, but I am not very accurate in my sports prognostications.

Dwyane Wade is a Michael Jordan in the same way you're a Jimmy the Greek.
Which is to say, he's not.

They are completely different players that played under different rules. But anyone who was around to watch Jordan can't help but make the comparison, they can both take men off the dibble, score at will, great defense and clutch in the 4th. Wade is the real deal.

Actually, Miami is the 17th media mkt, while Dallas is 7th with a bullet-- will be a top 5 DMA within 5 years easily. And I think this series has done wonders for the NBA primarily because of the interest generated by some hotly contested games. The Cuban sideshow also stimulates viewership, believe it or not, from casual obeservers who otherwise may not be paying much attn. Maybe just to see what he'll do next.

Miami is listed 7th largest metropolitan area in the country, and one of the fastest growing and is the largest metropolitan area in the south east.
Under slightly looser standards (insignificant) Dallas is the 6th largest.
In respect to those numbers, Miami has the larger reach and market to Dallas, so while it was jumping the gun to call dallas small market, miami is the better ratings team.....as well as having the more favorable management structure.
