I wouldn't assume England are through. If T&T steals a goal and England lose, then all bets are off. Even if England tie, they would likely need a result against Sweden to advance.
England need to quit dithering and put the facking onion in the bag!
What is going on with this England team? It's flabbergasting!
Only 5 out of their 19 shots have been on goal.
On a brighter note for Britain (notice it's "England" if English players are involved and "Britain" if players from other nations of Britain are involved), the clubhouse leader and only man under par at the US Open is --- Monty!!
Not a sign of midfield game, no one-twos...just long shots from the center circle into the one-on-one defense. Very uninspired. TnT can do this.
Well, to be fair Defoe was not even a regular starter for Tottenham. He was a little disappointing this past year compared to Mido and Keane.
That said, he would have been a better choice than a raw teenager.
Shades of 1950 versus the US.
Route One football, as they say.
England has always lacked imagination. This is VERY embarrassing. Underwhelming.
About time!
Crouch has been gash tonight, but fair play to the big man.
83' GOAL 21 CROUCH Peter (ENG)
CROUCHY YOU BEAUTY!
T&T was the FOURTH placed qualifier from CONCACAF who had to win a playoff to qualify.
This is about as embarassing as France's 1-0 defeat at the hands of its former colony Senegal in 2002.
Hmm looks like that Crouch guy finally scored (according to yahoo gamecast).
Looks like England will escape.
Crouch made up for his earlier mistakes now.
Their B team dominated our A team last year in Chicago.
About time!
