Eddie Johnson would be a great sub. I think superior speed is the US's best advantage over the old and pachydermic Czech team.

I remember a great sign at the Wimbledon final a number of years ago when Pat Cash played Ivan Lendl......Cash is better than a Czech.

Hopefully many of our servicemen in Germany are there at the match to root our boys on.

LOL.

Cech in goal is very good. Possible the best goalie in the world. This should be a cracker of a game.

Look out for the long range efforts of Nedved.

We haven't won a World Cup game in Europe since 1934.

And we don't have Mexico in our group to provide us with an easy win.

Respect is out there.

ESPN2 just played President Bush's pre-game pep call to Bruce Arena. Bush told Arena he was a good man, wished us luck and all.

Team Lineups:

USA: Keller, Onyewu, Mastroeni, Pope, Cherundolo, Reyna, Beasley, Convey, Lewis, McBride, Donovan.

Czech Republic: Cech, Grygera, Rozehnal, Ujfalusi, Jankulovski, Poborsky, Galasek, Rosicky, Plasil, Nedved, Koller.

Just played the phone call from Bush to Arena. Wynalda afterwords - "the right guy to call if your heading into a war..."

I shouldn't be this nervous.

Milan Baros has been ruled out of the game for Czech Republic. He isn't fit enough yet to play. Good news for us.

Have to hope that the young guys will be able to run circles around the aging midfield of the Czechs...

Long range lethal shots were Nedved's calling card 10 years ago in Euro 1996. In the last few year's he has gone native in Italy: nothing but diving and whining.

I'm nervous as hell, looking for a good match.

I have no animosity to the Czechs, I spent a lot of time over there, great people, great country.

Lets hope for a good match!

I'm surprised Pope is starting, I thought Bocanegra would get the nod.

I just nipped out to stare at the big screen saying "USA vs Czech Republic 7:50 p.m."

Which is right now....

It's cocktail hour on this side of the world.

GO USA!!

"It's almost like the fourth of July", says the Swedish commentator.

It should be a great game. Two very talented teams.

Go USA.

I think you will win this!!
