hi Darlin,
Disasters abound, don't they? You're too close for comfort to N.O. I suspect.
As a boy, It was '58 or so, my family lived in Boloxi, in a trailer court on the back bay. We had a hurricane come through and wash away the pier and beach house. That was a huge tempest. I found the pier in the swamp, got the owner's OK, and my dad and I cut it up for playhouse wood. Made for one sturdy little playhouse.

Well,
Did you see the news on the power blackout in Queens, NY?
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/436887p-368106c.html
Looks really miserable when it's too hot and the power goes out for five days. ConEd is reimbursing people for spoiled food ($350) and passing out free ice. Can't say when things will be fixed or how.)

Step 1: Who to blame.
Step 2: What free handout is in it for me?
Step 3: Who else is to blame.
Step 4: What else is there to compensate me for pain and suffering?
Step 5: Isn't there somebody else to blame?
Step 6: Why don't we have more hand-outs for these poor people?
Step 7: Doesn't this smack of discrimination / prejudice / lack of understanding / lack of good will?
Step 8: Can't we get compensation that really addresses the fundamental inequality here?
Step 9: How come this didn't happen to rich white people?
Step 10: Why don't we just get angry and riot and get some new wide screen TVs while we'er at it...
This stuff just writes itself.

Whatcy'allthink? Clearly the platnium bottle is the costly part.... but my question is, if ya owned it, would ya drink a $225,000 bottle of tequila ?
Top Mexican tequila sells for six figures
Fri Jul 21, 12:54 AM ET Forget about the kind of tequila you slam down on the bar or knock back at parties in throat-burning shots with salt and lemon. If you're paying six figures, you might prefer to savour it in small sips.
An impossibly upmarket brand of tequila -- 100 percent blue Agave lovingly aged for six years and sold in a limited edition platinum bottle with fancy artwork on the label -- went on sale in Mexico on Thursday night for $225,000 (121,000 pounds) a bottle.
"Tonight we are trying for the Guinness Book of Records with the most expensive bottle in the world," Fernando Altamirano, chief executive of producer Tequila Ley .925, told a launch party for the liquor.
Tequila Ley .925 has produced 66 bottles of the "Pasion Azteca" tequila, half of them pure platinum bottles and half of them gold and platinum-decorated bottles that sell for the slightly less extravagant price of $150,000.
"Since we started out, we began with the idea of making the finest, most expensive bottle of tequila in the world," Altamirano told Reuters.
For those on a smaller budget, there are 999 bottles of the same tequila in silver and gold bottles priced at $25,000.
Showing off one of each type, Altamirano said they had already been sold to a collector, but declined to give away the buyer's identity.
Altamirano, whose company has won awards for its stylish bottles, said his next goal was to create a million-dollar tequila bottle made from diamond-encrusted platinum and auction it at Sotheby's next year.

Remember how for 8 loooooong miserable years we had articles and photos of the Hideous Hillary force feed to us on a daily basis ? No matter how insignificant it was, we heard about it. OTOH, Laura Bush quietly goes about the business of being First Lady, spearheading many worthwhile programs but we have to search to learn about them. Sssssssigh !
