Hanging in there. I've been sick all weekend with a migraine and an annoying teenager.
The migraine I can take a pill for. The teenager? Eleven months, 15 days and counting.
And then the teeager will be twenty? Does that really help?
I figure that, in general, if it's something that I can do, it's not poetry. I did have a brief moment where I was able to write a poem about my cat for a mandatory writing assignment in high school that had rhyming and rhythm. But that was just one time. It's kind of like painting - I can paint a canvas all one color, or spatter paint randomly. But don't ask me to paint a landscape. LOL!
I hope you feel better soon.
No, then the teenager will be 18. At that point if she does something stupid she'll be legally responsible for it, not us. :-)
Thanks!
I'm not sure. Since I don't have my own kids, and I was (and still am) a wonderful daughter, I can't answer that question. ;-)
The beauty of having a 18-y/o in the house is not caring whether she's home for dinner every night.
She'll be going to college, working and dating, so I doubt we'll see her much. At 17 she's going to high school, working and dating, and seems to think it's an imposition on her civil rights to expect a little accountability to her parents.
Relax and post to a few real characters : )
That's why I'm here! There's sanity to be found among the Undead...
Ah, yes... Kids tend to want to be independent before they really can be independent. It may be unpleasant for a while, but the time will fly by, and she will turn 18 rather quickly.
One for all, and all for U T!
Oh, I know this year is going to fly, and then we'll wish we had it back. I also know it's going to be a battle.
We've given her quite a bit of freedom, but it seems the more we give the more she tries to take. Only child, you see.
I just can't wait to hear what hairbrained scheme she cooks up for spring break. She won't be 18 yet, so the answer is a preemptive NO!
17 is a tough age for a girl.........I remember my girlfriend when she was 17................................................................................................................................................................................AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Go UT!
Ouch! That hurts.
Was your seventeen year old girlfriend a complete drama queen?
Honestly, I don't know how her boyfriend puts up with her theatrics.
The only thing I remember about being 17 was wanting to graduate from high school as soon as possible.
I vaguely recall being 17. I went to high school part time and worked part time. The whole year was a blur.
Hey, I'm off to bed. My husband is offering a backrub.
See you all tomorrow!
Good night, Sandy.
There's no way my being seventeen could have lasted a whole year! Three months, tops.
It's gotta be inflation.
