What will it take to Dis-bar Nifong for judicial misconduct?

This entire affair ... Trial by Media ... makes me gag. This is a matter for a jury now, not the Media and Pundits. OK, I'm done now.

A lawyer with the state NAACP said the civil rights organization intends to seek a gag order in the Duke lacrosse case, and a journalist who participated in a forum with him on Wednesday said media coverage of the alleged rape may deprive the alleged victim of her legal rights to a fair trial.

Hmmm... I always thought the accused had a right to a fair trial. Silly me!

Oh. How predictable. Another "dog and pony show" masquerading as "human rights" but only to promote their own organizations.

How utterly in bad taste.

No doubts their "peepul" in Durham requested this.

But they are violating the State Bar's rules of professional conduct that discourage comments outside court that are likely to prejudice a case, he said.

Where was their concern about the professional conduct on display with Nifong's almost daily press conferences? I suppose the spin, favorable to the accuser, was fair game.

Of couse NAACP wants a gag order, now that it has come out that the "exotic Dancer" is a skanky 'ho who had three different men's semen in her that night--none of it from any Duke Lacrosse player.

Nifong should hang his head in shame.

Who cares what they think?

Let them whine!
There is no requirement to pay any attention to them.

An attorney who represents 30 of the team players, Robert C. Ekstrand, criticized the police tactics and said: “The questioning that was going on was all about who was not at the party. It's not hard to conclude from all of this that they are very concerned that this accuser has identified, if the D.A.'s correct she did identify one or two of the boys last week--they're concerned that she's identified somebody who was demonstrably not at the party and they're trying to figure out who that might have been. My biggest question, however, is that's an awfully odd thing to be asking about right now when the objective of law enforcement is not solely to find the guilty but to identify the innocent. And on the eve of a threatened indictment, to be asking questions like that is stunning."

I wonder if the National Association of Angry Colored People would be so considerate if the alleged rape victim was white.
