Ishtar meets Waterworld.
The DaVinci Code stopped itself....universally bad reviews...even from the lefty film critics.
Come on people. This is starting to look like the Muslims foaming at the mouth over a cartoon. It's a book and a movie. We still have freedom of speech right? Let's not become like the enemy.
Rudolph Valentino or Glenn Ford?
If we stop giving this turkey free publicity then this feminazi wet dream would just go away into the DVD bargain bin.
Seriously, ITS A BADLY MADE MOVIE.
Go see some other movie, watch paint drying, this movie is being hyped because the hollyweird leftist view it as "the Passion of the Left"
If everyone wants to do something useful with their 6-10 dollars, donate it to FR.
At the start of the book, Dan Brown pledges, "All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents and secret rituals in this novel are accurate." That is hardly necessary for a work of fiction.
On the radio this morning, I heard about some anti-"Da Vinci Code" protests that were planned. If people want to do that, fine. It really isn't my cup of tea, and neither are this book or movie. If this is an outrage against Christ, there are greater and more subtle outrages committed against him every minute of every day.
"The DaVinci Code" will pass. Christ and his truth will stand.
Good Point.
After the DaVinci Code we can try to stop South Park, Two and a half Men, Lost, and any other show that might offend our sense of religious superiority.
Here's a better idea, people should take 10 minutes and talk to their children/friends/neighbors about the importance of being able to use rational thought to reach a conclusion not based purely on emotion.
If I were Catholic, I'd be more concerned about the perception that every priest is molesting the altar boys. Oh, and before you flame the crap out of me, take ten seconds to think about which is the bigger problem, the movie or the behaviors of church leaders.
It's amazing how quickly people lose sight of what's really important. Anything from Hollywood ranks really low on my list of "things to get upset about."
I think psuedo conservative MEDIA WHORES are jumping on the "boycot" band waggon because they know the left wing media will stick a camera in their face in exchance for "boycott" causing free publicity.

This movie probably won't fail now because of the Religious Right push against it. No matter how bad and boring it is, all the people who want to flip Jerry Falwell the bird will go see it. Religious protests of a film didn't kill Last Temptation of Christ, Basic Instinct or Dogma so it definitely won't take this one down, which already has a built in audience of several million.
It is a book, but it slanders real people and religious beliefs. Its intention is to have people question Christianity and put Christianity in a bad light. It represents itselve as being based on historical fact, with the exception of the fictious characters and their story. No one is rioting and no one has placed $1 million price tag on the head of the author.
We still have freedom of speech right?
That is what we are excersing. Or is just the author that owns that freedom?
Rudy! Rudy!
Wouldn't we better off feeding the spirit of the malnourished Christians (as you call it) as opposed to fighting a movie of fiction?
By trying to stop the movie it makes the "weak" Christians think you must be hiding something. Why not just say it's fiction and leave it at that?
"Relax kid... it's only a movie."
-- Ham Salad, Hardware Wars - 1978
It's getting horrible reviews.
Christianity or obsessive neurotic busy bodies like the a$$hole woman who just tried to get the Harry Potter books banned in Gwinnett county (Atlanta Suburbs)
IIRC Waterworld eventually made money loonngg after it came out on video.
