FOX reporting that Dionne Warwick and Clay Aiken will sing tonight..

They'll be doing THAT's WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR -- Composer, Burt Bacharah appears as well.

I also hear that you'll hear Chicken Little, Long Island finalist, Kevin Covais do WHAT's NEW PUSSYCAT ( makes me smile thinking about it ).

I'm in favor of that. Give me a good songwriter any day over someone who can just sing. Dylan, Petty, Tom Waits, Jay Farrar, Neil Peart, Gordon Downie just to name a few. All great, great songwriters who's lyrics paint wonderful emotional pictures.

But remember, they couldn't get through for Taylor because others were. They could get through for Kat because others weren't dialing as much.

I cannot believe that they would constrict the bandwidth for one contestant over another. That would have to get out somehow and it would be a huge (sorry, HUGH) scandal...

If we go by the stats on that site in the raw numbers section, Kat has 20% more successful votes cast, even though Taylor was getting 50% more calls from fans to vote.

It the stats are correct, we have some tampering and bandwidth being messed around with.

If they especially tonight claim it was the closest vote ever, they will be full of caca.

I'm reading polls in papers across the country have people voting 2-1 for Taylor.

It's just a show, but a good old fashioned manipulated vote would be fun to watch IMO. :)

The only other explanation would be that the Dial Idol sample is over-representitave of Kat voters and under-representative of Taylor votes vs. the population at large.

I'm not so sure. Let's say the Dial Idol sample for Taylor was (to pick a number out of this air) 0.1% of all Taylor voters and Kat's was 1% of all Kat voters. That means more people outside of the Dial Idol sample were trying to get through and connecting for Taylor than were trying to get through and connecting for Kat. That's why Dial Idol showed a higher busy signal percentage for Taylor. It shouldn't mean that fewer votes were cast as there were just more outside the sample trying to get in.

Thank you. That is much clearer and much more concise than mine. That's the point I was trying to make.

All night that service showed Kat getting far less people dialing in, yet it shows she has the higher number of votes.

It shows a ton of more calls made by Taylor people all night, but that there was more than double the busy signals with Taylor.

If Taylor's lines were more active, there should be more votes there for him than Kat.
That is the bottom line.
If the bandwidth was limited for Taylor so Kat got more votes, that would be vote tampering.

Maybe Dial Idol is all wrong.

If Taylor's lines were more active, there should be more votes there for him than Kat.

It would show the opposite because more people outside the sample were getting through instead. More Dial Idol busy signals mean more people outside the sample voting means more total votes. That is their theeory.

So how do they in their raw numbers show 20% more completed votes for Kat?

How does that work?

Because fewer people were calling in for Kat so here lines were more open allowing Dial Idol to register votes instead of busy signals.

Convers is true for Taylor. So many other people outside of Dial Idol were calling in a registering votes that Dial Idol couldn't get through and were therefore registering busy signals instead of votes.

UNLIKE MY WIFE WHO TAKES FOREVER TO DECIDE....

TMZ.com has info about Taylor’s purple velvet jacket:

‘Idol’ had a gut feeling about his velvet choice

By TMZ.COM STAFF

(May 24, 3:03PM ET) — ‘American Idol’s’ Taylor Hicks rocked the judges during Tuesday night’s finale and TMZ has the story behind his purple velvet jacket.

The jacket is by Dolce & Gabbana and retails for a whopping $1,648.

Taylor was with his stylist when he purchased the jacket from the trendy LA store Traffic.

Sources tell TMZ that the moment Taylor tried the velvet number on, his comment was, “Okay, I feel it!” and instantly bought the jacket!

The white shirt Taylor wore under the jacket was an Ozwald Boateng shirt retailing for $205.

Sources tell TMZ that Traffic is Taylor’s favorite store. Since Taylor has been on ‘Idol’ he’s shopped at the store roughly eight times.

Taylor is such a fan of the clothes, he even brought his father into the store to show him all his choices.

Although his father bought nothing, he loved Taylor’s picks.

Sources say Taylor is a very quick shopper. He knows immediately whether a piece works or not.

While the ‘Idol’ star is in the store, witnesses describe him as very polite, confident and friendly - even to the gawking fans.
