I totally agree. She has the looks. If she has any acting ability at all, she should do fine. I mean...in terms of quality of performance, today's movies seldom require the second coming of Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart (American Film Institute's choices as #1 male/female actors of the 20th Century).

Another reason the Destiny song was a clunker - Kat singing about overcoming adversity to somehow reach success rings hollow when Hollywood Dad and Cabaret Mom are practically on stage with her. They are SO done. Here's just one representative comment from the Dixie Chicks thread in the Country music forum at Pulse Music Board. These are -- or were -- Dixie Chicks fans.

The poster goes by the handle KMCB writes:

... yes, a stab at country music fans, who are much of the reason anyone knows who the Chicks are. "Those kind of fans" - which includeD myself and others here, were not "limiting what they could do" when they were joining fan clubs, buying CDs, T-shirts, bumper stickers, and concert tickets. What a load of crap. What a slap in the face. To me, Martie's remark is much worse in the light of their artistry than any of the other stupid things they have said.

I don't care so much about the Bush remark anymore. I am a Bush fan and I am used to it. What bothers me is that they won't shut the he11 up about it. Make your music and MOVE ON. They want everyone else to move on, but it seems they have nothing else to talk about. Even naming their tour as they did seems like they have nothing else to say. If this album is just a retread of their "controversy," why buy it? We've heard that song before...
