So maybe the watch was a gift to Taylor. Not only that, but even if he did buy himself, he doesn't strike me as a spend thrift. Hence his need for a couch! lol But, it may have been something he save for, out of his alottment and figured it would be a good memento of this time in his life, as well as having a useful purpose.

I think this discussion makes it germane for me to bring up questions whose answer I don't know. Here they are :
1) How much allowance total do each contestant have ? ( Not only clothes but wages, surely with the revenue they bring to FOX, they have salaries... ).
2) How much cut do they get from the sales of their American Idol CD ?
3) How much do they make from their 40 city tour ?

The dilemma for me is why the text votes could not be sent for the entire second hour. As if all of a sudden a lot of Seattlites decided to vote for Elliott? And with texting... Not making any excuses, because I agree with you for the most part and think the voting is geared to a set result, but, a lot of people do watch House and might figure that the lines are so congested that first hour that they will wait and for during the second hour. Some might even vote just during commericals.

I have a question....Cannot the West Coast people vote when we vote even though they don't see the program until later and then vote again after their time zone viewing. And likewise, can't we vote again when they vote? Is there anything to block this?

Nice post. Thanks for that. I have to admit I have probably been unfair in my judgement of her, based on what I have seen on t.v. I really needed to read that. Thanks again.

I couldn't listen to Nadia's. I downloaded whatever I needed but it still didn't work for. I liked Nadia, so I would have liked to hear her version. I suspect though I probably would have had the same reaction that you did, though.

Some people will use any excuse to bash the McPhee family. I just don't see it that way -- Katharine was relieved and thrilled, no, make that ecstatic, that she wasn't voted off. GIve the kid a break. She is just a kid, after all.

I just love how you can fill us in on all the dirt behind the scenes! :) Kelly has worked hard and deserves the many accolades that she gets.

That's upsetting that Elliot would have had more votes. I know I called for him and Taylor for the 2 hours and could only get through for Elliot 3 times and none for Taylor. Makes me feel like I wasted time.
To: SirLinksalot
I didn't like Klippert's at all and keep in mind that his version was nearly twice as long as Taylor's. That just might make a difference on how Taylor's would have been, had he been allowed 4 minutes.

Bo is also performing at Alabama Adventures/visionland theme park in B'ham this summer. I believe Charlie Daniels will be here as well. :)

Makes me want to borrow a friends Cingular phone and pay the bill... Thanks for the reminder!

How strange not to mention her own daughter by name. Probably because she isn't her daughters AI vocal coach. I forget who is, but just read something about this yesterday or the day before. She's kind of padding her resume. ;)

Winner of the First Annual Oak Room Young Artist Competition, Samantha Sidley - Algonquin Hotel, NYC Samantha Sidley singing "Georgia"
Samantha has won a lot of awards for her jazz singing. McMom has plenty to be proud of regarding her coaching of Samantha.

BTW, I was not complaining or ripping Taylor for the watch. Heck, I'm jealous....:-)

This looks like Taylor's watch:
To: Wyatt's Torch; All
Does anyone know yet what the final two are required to sing? Is it one from a prior show, the sappy new pop tune, and then what? Please enlighten...

I just love how you can fill us in on all the dirt behind the scenes! :):)
I owe it all to one of the best fan sites I've ever seen, Kelly Clarkson Express. They don't waste time or money on a fancy website. It's just a forum that got started during season 1 and has grown from there. People post news about Kelly (and AI) on it from around the world.
Kelly has worked hard and deserves the many accolades that she gets.
Kelly isn't a classic beauty like Carrie Underwood or Katharine McPhee. She's more the girl-next-door type. She's a hard-working young woman who, so far at least, is still humble, sweet, slightly dorky and unpretentious despite her growing fame. Kelly is my role model for the little sister I never had, and I'm crazy about her in that way.
