WOW! There are some serious fans out there! I guess I am not THAT motivated. LOL.
Oh those pictures are so much fun! I have to say Taylor and Kat look absolutely adorable together!
MRob, I will freepmail you the address for them, in case you are still looking for a recipient.
Actually Netizen posted it, but it was nice, I agree!
I'm afraid I find that to be quite believeable.
If I had uppity goats like this, complaining all the time, I'd eat them.
This is a VERY impotant statistic. If the total spread between the three was truly 310,000 votes (based on a nice, clean 50 million vote total) then you are talking about a miniscule amount of te viewing audience deciding the winner. Wow...............
I wish the math on the vote totals was just tinfoil. But it's not. If the capacity of the landline system is materially less than the demand to cast votes for all competitors then they are guaranteed to receive the same percentage of votes. It has to work out that way. Stipulating that, the winner is decided by text votes of which there is excess capacity and, therefore, all attempted votes are received and counted. That leads to minuscule percentage differences in the contestants totals. COuple that with the producers discretionary throwing out of "power votes" and it is very possible that a winner can be "selected" in this manner.
The producers have a lot of money at stake in this venture. The need a marketable winner to the pop music audience. Their rules allow them to effectively select that person. I hope I'm wrong but I believe Kat will be named the winner next week.
My wife and I took our parents to see SInatra in 1991. He was getting up there and reading the lyrics off a teleprompter but it was still a great show.
Exactly. Dead solid perfect.
Very, very, very well said.
Katharine Hope McPhee (born March 25, 1984 in Sherman Oaks, California) is an American singer who rose to fame as the winner of fifth season of American Idol.
Taylor has gone a little upscale. If I'm not mistaken, the watch he is wearing in the top picture is a Breitling (around $5,000). BTW, both Simon and Seacreast have worn Breitling watches on the show (I'm a bit of a watch nut).
You gotta love Wikipedia! That being said, remember last year when a published article in England came out prior to the finale that said the Carrie was the winner? Sometihng like 5 days prior to the show.
I'm right where I want to be......enjoying AI and everything about it! I love the program, I love that I get to share it via email with my daughter.
Beauty and the Spaz: Hicks vs. McPhee: Nobody wins
By Mark A. Perigard

Now that all the talented contestants have been eliminated, its easy to call the finale for TVs hottest show.
Say hello to the next American Idol: Taylor Hicks.
Hey, dont blame me. Youre going to pick him.
The gray-haired spaz is going to break Katharine McPhee into little plastic pieces and drag her Barbie head all over the stage Tuesday (at 8 p.m. on WFXT, Ch. 25). Itll be like Godzilla vs. Bambi, Superman vs. Daffy Duck, Kathy Griffin vs. Clay Aiken - no contest.
Poor McPhee. If she hadnt crumbled weeks ago under the pressure, you might feel sorry for her. Did anyone recognize her rendition of Over the Rainbow this week? She looked like an asylum patient ready to impale herself on a spork. What she needs is two months off; whats shes getting next week is the opportunity of a lifetime, the chance to become the female Justin Guarini.
I could be wrong. But since the last good singer, Elliott Yamin, was eliminated Wednesday, its hard to root for either finalist. Neither Hicks nor McPhee should have gotten this far.
Hicks has been often compared to look-alike Michael McDonald, but it wasnt until we saw his visit to his Alabama hometown Wednesday that the real comparison became evident.
Hes Elvis - campy, kitschy, bloated 70s Elvis, relishing his breakfast of ribs and pancakes (!). Hes a caricature of a real singer, inexplicably beloved by fans. All he needs to do is start tossing scarves into the audience.
Much like Elvis, he is a showman who can connect with an audience. For the finale, I expect him to take a page out of Garth Brooks act and fly out on wires over the heads of starry-eyed worshipers. Crowd-surfing wont do it at this point.
Idol opened the season with thousands of hopefuls, scores of crazies, a few decent male voices for a change and even one local in the Top 24 - Ayla Brown. It promised to be the most unpredictable season ever. Actually, it was very predictable - with talent losing to stage theatrics and looks.
How many times can the judges tell McPhee how beautiful she is? This isnt Americans Next Top Model. Its a singing competition - one that is now tone-deaf.
Better luck next year.
The rest is spot on. There was a connection to Taylor, for me, and no connection at all with the talented McPhee and her odious father.
"Looks aren't everything. When I listen to a cd, I'm not concerned what the singer looks"
Absolutely. Frank Sinatra for many years was very thin and not particularly good-looking. But when he sang, you forgot all about that. Same with Tony Bennett, Mel Torme and so on.
Elliott is very gifted and the fact that he was voted off makes me sick.
They should call this show "The American Idol Bubble Gum Special" - are they really looking for good singers anymore?
Saying that, I do like Taylor - he is entertaining but Elliott has the most talent. I miss him.
Let's hope we don't miss him too long.
Probably done by McMom in a frenzied moment.
