Blech!
Yeah, I can only go by what the singers that did that, told me.
Just curious as I saw that someone posted some of the things I wrote on this site over there. I have no problem with it. Happy to help...:-)
Are you God? ;)
I agree with this completely. In fact I was discussing this a while back on one of these threads. I think that she is extremely self-conscious and it really showed with her clothing choices. Then her stylist started "pouring" her into those slinky numbers. I think that her unsuredness about her body and self-consciousness--which make her look really awkward sometimes--translate to someone who is stuck-up and robotic. I used to get accused of being stuck-up because I had such self-esteem issues that I would overcompensate by walking with my back straight, head held high, and (unfortunately) my chest right out there. I didn't want people to know that I really was a freaked out "little girl" that hated her body and herself, so I put on the air of confidence, complete with the big smile. Because of that, I was "branded" all types of interesting names. I guess I see some of my college self in the way Kat presents herself. (I'm talking attitude). Then again, I could be totally off the mark.
I just wish I could still vote for Chris. **pouts**
I think it would be good, fun and I think the audience would go nuts.
I would hope that Taylor would have a really good entertainment lawyer before he agrees to put any of his original stuff on any 19E CD. I think he should keep the two separate.
LOL
You're a celebrity and didn't know it! :)
I agree. It's a little unsettling.
Did you just save a bunch of money on your car insurance by switching to GEICO?
LOL! NO! :) I wouldn't switch because of the silly gecko.
No I meant good news about Elliot. :) LOL
The phone companies would have to instantaneously ID the phone number from which each call was made. We know they do this already, both for their own accounting purposes and for law enforcement and fire/rescue purposes.
Contest applications would need software to count the number of calls from each individual phone number to the restricted number (as opposed to any other number), then do a cut off after the quota was reached. This is the part of the technology I know nothing about, or even if it exists.
" Idol has never had a phone set up that can handle such a large volume of calls."
Really! Good grief! They better literally get with the program. I don't like this news.
Very touching. I also thought it was extremly classy of Taylor to bring Elliott and Katharine into his number when he was singing last night. He didn't have to.
Here's some stuff I found about skype. I believe this is going on in the Katharine camp too, but haven't been over there to check it out yet. I found this from AI, and MrDaughtry.com. What are your thoughts?
This first is claimed to be a copy and past from SoulPatrol, but I found it at Mrdaughtry.com. They were pissed over there, and had started a thread about it. I can say that I have seen it on a different thread, but con not remember which. I think it may have been AI.

Hello fellow Taylor fan!
I'm contacting you because we have reason to believe you are a Taylor fan living in the either the Pacific or Mountain Time Zones. If that's the case, you may be interested in the following information:
You are currently able to vote for Taylor only during the two-hour Pacific Time Zone or Mountain Time Zone voting windows following broadcast of the "American Idol" in your area, using your phone or text-messaging. However, some of us have recently become aware of a method by which Pacific and Mountain Time Zone fans can actually vote for Taylor during the earlier Eastern Time Zone period as well (which occurs between 6pm-8pm Pacific Time, and 7pm - 9pm Montain Time). Obviously, this method involves "bending the rules", and therefore we do not want the people at "American Idol" to be aware of it. Therefore, we ask that you PLEASE NOT post the following information on any "American Idol" related public message board. We encourage you to forward it to other Taylor supporters in your time zone, but only on a "private message" or email basis.
All you have to do is download a FREE computer program called "Skype" from the following website: www.skype.com. It allows you to make phone calls over the internet that appear to be originating in the Eastern Time Zone, even though you're in a different time zone. This is because all calls placed via the program are routed through aggregator numbers located in the Eastern U.S.
Step-by-step instructions on downloading and using Skype to vote for Taylor appear below. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions/problems. But please do NOT post this information on any public board. Also, please use ONLY phone and text-messaging voting methods during your USUAL voting period, as they are the best and most reliable methods. Use Skype ONLY to make additional voting calls during the Eastern Time Zone voting period when you are not able to use the other methods.
I hope you use this information to register even MORE votes for Taylor than you already do, and help him to realize his dream of being the next American Idol!

TEP INSTRUCTIONS
ON HOW TO USE SKYPE
1. Download Skype from skype.com and install the program
2. Follow directions to create a user name w/ password to log in.
3. No need to do the mic test, unless youre planning to use Skype for actual calls.
4. The progam opens on the contacts tab. To the right of this tab, you have the dial and then the history tabs.
5. Click on the dial tab. Here, you will type +1866436570X (where X = idol number assigned to Taylor) - then click on the green phone button at the bottom of the screen. [note: you MUST type "+" before the number]
6. It will be like calling from a regular phone, except theres no redial button. So either a) the call goes through, in which case you can hang up by clickin on the red phone button; or itll be busy, so you click on the red phone button to hang up.
7. If you get a message saying the other party is "busy", the program automatically disconnects the call. You can then instantly "redial" the number by clicking on the green button.
8. However, if your call goes through and you hear Taylor's voice thanking you for voting, you must quickly click on the red tab to end the call, after which hitting the green button will NOT automatically redial the number. One way to redial is to go to the history tab (to the right of the dial tab) which shows the number you just dialed. Make sure its highlighted, then click on the green phone button to dial again. Another way is to copy the number onto your clipboard, and just paste it into the white box.
RICHMOND, VA (May 15, 2006) Cavalier Telephone, a leading provider of voice and high speed internet service throughout the mid-Atlantic and one of Richmond's 50 largest employers, announced today that they will continue to provide Richmond area residents with an easy way to support Elliott Yamin's quest to become the next American Idol. Cavalier will again establish phone banks at the Downtown Richmond Bottoms Up location and Melito's restaurant at 8815 Three Chopt Road .
Last week's events went better than expected and we estimate that over 12,000 calls were placed from the two locations, said Andy Lobred, Cavalier Vice President of Product Management and Marketing. Melito's and Bottoms Up have been terrific partners and provide excellent opportunities for people to have a fun evening while they are supporting Elliott.
Cavalier sets up a group of phones at each restaurant where customers can cast their votes quickly using the ELLIOTT speed dial keys marked on each phone. With so many American Idol fans calling from Richmond during the voting time, Cavalier has engineered its network to allow some calls placed from the phone banks to travel along Cavalier's fiber network to Northern Virginia or Philadelphia before going on to American Idol to help increase the chances of getting calls completed.
That seems like a lot of work. I don't care that much to put in that much effort.
So, yeah, concerts matter. ;)
Tell me about it! I went to Whitney Houston's concert in 1986. She was really popular then. I loved her, bought her records, etc. Her concert though was horrible. The person fronting her was Kenny G and he played for over an hour!! i liked his music ok but over an hour is way too much, she comes out and sings maybe 20 minutes and goes off. My friend and I were fuming! Tickets weren't cheap for a couple of high school students. I really didn't care for anything she sang after that.
American Idol Controversy: Elliott Yamin Fans Angry Over Katharine McPhee's Reaction
http://www.realitytvmagazine.com/blog/2006/05/american_idol_c_3.html
The American Idol Finale will come down to a West Coast girl vs. a Southern boy. As Ryan Seacrest announced that Elliott Yamin was eliminated from the competition, the reaction of the remaining two finalists was very different. Taylor Hicks looked solemn and serious in a show of respect for his fallen comrade, but Katharine McPhee appeared to be overjoyed with emotion.
In all fairness to Katharine McPhee, she was probably much more surprised to still be in the competition and thereby was more prone to react with excitement. When Katharine caught a glimpse of the somber look on Taylors face, she did attempt to contain her enthusiasm. She had almost completely wiped the smile off her face by the time the camera cut away to Ryan Seacrest and Elliott Yamin on stage.
Unfortunately for Katharine McPhee, when the camera returned to her and Taylor seconds later, she was once again captured in a moment of glee. As Taylor Hicks continued his stone-faced expression, Katharine McPhee grinned from ear to ear and twisted her fingers together in delight. Needless to say, many Elliott Yamin fans have been none to pleased with Katharines reaction and are already pledging their support to Taylor Hicks.
Not only is Katharine McPhee's reaction coming under criticism, but Elliott Yamin fans are also expressing outrage over the way Katharine's family reacted. While Taylor's family mirrored his solemn expression, Katharine's mom had a huge smile on her face upon hearing the results. A Reality TV Magazine reader named Jim commented "When Katharine's mother was cheering and so gleeful, it really upset me. Have some class. Katharine also had a big smile on her face."
With the slim margin separating all three contestants in the American Idol top three results show, the ultimate winner of the competition will likely be whoever captures the votes that were going to Elliott Yamin. Taylor Hicks likely had a better shot at appealing to Elliott's fans anyway, but Katharine's reaction has just made many Elliott fans even more determined to keep her out of the winner's circle.
