Taylor also plays the guitar.

I wouldn't want Taylor to break the rules, use his harmonica and risk getting disqualified. I want him to win this thing.

That's where i think immaturity comes in. I believe she has been really sheltered from life, causing a lack of emotion. Every parent tries to shelter their children but some of life's experiences are necessary to cope and to help be empathetic. That's what i think she is missing. Taylor and Elliot and Chris did well because they have had to work hard, playing in bars, weddings, etc. just to make ends meet and be able to do what they love, making it easier to emote. I don't think Katharine has had those opportunities, to really work for it, so there is no emotion or connection to the songs.

I do to. And if she does I will have all the evidence I need that this show and the votes are a fraud and I won't watch a single second of any additional seasons.

I feel the same way.

Flea'd from Taylor's official AI board, a good descrption of the voting percentages being so close:

Here's why the numbers are so close:

Imagine 3 theatres showing The DaVinci Code. Each theatre starts showing the movie at 9pm. Each has only one person selling tickets to that theatre, and each moviegoer can only buy one ticket at a time.

Now imagine that 5000 people are lined up at theatre one. 100,000 are lined up at theatre two, and 5 million are lined up at theatre three.

It's 7pm, and tickets are now on sale. Which theatre will have the most people in it at 9pm?

The answer: All of them will have about the same. Because regardless of how many people are lined up, about the same number of tickets will be sold during the two hours tickets are on sale.

Same thing applies to toll-free calls. Only a certain, albeit larger, number of calls can be processed in the two hours of voting. Once the lines reach capacity, it doesn't matter how many more people are in line to vote or buy tickets.

That's why the final vote will be 50.01% to 49.99%, regardless of who faces who at this stage.

Best description I've seen. This also allows the winner to be "selected" much more easilty.

Somebody may have mentioned this already, but the same thing happened with Rueben and Clay...the final votes were VERY close due to maxed out phone lines.

You know, I have to imagine that AT&T (as well as all toll free and long-distance providers) is just chomping at the bit to give AI more capacity, because it's just more money for AT&T. Makes you wonder why they don't do it.

{Going to make my tin foil hat now}

From realitytvmagazine - a shot of Taylor's and Kat's reaction after Elliot was eliminated

I noticed those far different reactions. Katharine and her parents made me sick. They spared not a single thought to giving Elliott respect even for a moment. Sure, be joyous that Katharine is in the finals. It's perfectly normal. But it's also normal for decent people to show a bit of kindness and respect. They had none.

I often think that the perfect song for Taylor to sing (and play) is Tom Cochrane's "Life is a Highway."

Sigh. That would be wonderful.

I have no idea why AI is so scared of it.

I don't either. Makes no sense, unless it's their idea of fairness.

I know. Me either, even though he is really good with it. Maybe they will let him like they did Bo and Carrie last year with the guitars.

Concur..I wrote here Tuesday night..somewheres on the thread, that for her last numer, her choice, istead of that inane blues song, she should have stood there, said "This is for all our brave troops, protecting our freedoms"..and sang "God Bless America"... ( including the great introduction part of the song)...she'd have wrapped it up...by several million votes..

She probably doesn't realize we have troops scattered around the world. I think her biggest concern is what length hair extensions to use.

Elliott on Ryan’s Show:
Homecoming Day was the best day of his life.
No ill feelings toward anyone or anybody.
What do you think you’ll do after the tour?
- My home is in Richmond, VA, I’ll be networking and trying to work things out and set things up for himself in the future.
- Wants to kick back and take a deep breath
Impressions of each contestant
- “Tay Tay” is his dawg, great guy, true talent. Someone who has soul, passion and heart and love for music.
Do you think Taylor will be the winner?
- Both are already winners
Did you think Kat was hot?
- He answered the question admirably. She is a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice. Didn’t take Ryan’s bait, good for him.
