Priscilla is a walking billboard AGAINST plastic surgery. She looked like Marilyn Manson.
Taylor was awesome. Chris was a little sleep-inducing. Still can't get into Elliott.
And _jonny, as always, THANKS for bumping the thread.

His voice was quivering in the beginning so I just took it as nerves.

Elliot's first song
(sorry I forgot to include the names before)
Randy: "You laid it out! That was hot!"

Paula: "THat was the best vocal performance you've done this entire season."
Simon: "You chose a song that not a lot of people are going to know, you came in as the underdog ... but still that was the best performance so far."

Everyone has their favorites. If you don't like Taylor - that's okay. That does not mean you need to bash those that do.
I like Tayor AND Chris. I prefer Taylor because he does not yell at me. That is a personal preference.

I obviously have no taste. It could just as easily be me that is wrong. I will be buying albums from Taylor after Idol. Chris and Kat maybe. Elliott not a chance.

Pricilla Presley and Kenny Rodgers, the poster children for leaving well enough alone.
Whatever happened to aging gracefully?

I can't believe the judges liked it so much....I thought he was terrible....maybe it sounded better in person.. I'm sure it does sound much different in person.

"They all make me realize how truly great Elvis was."
Bingo. If you are going to sing an Elvis song, don't sing it like Elvis did. The direct comparison will kill you. I think that's why the panel liked Elliot. It sounded like he had never heard the Elvis version.
McPhee should have an easier time of it. It will be much harder to compare a female voice to Elvis.

I enjoyed him, too, Bah. That was a song that I did not connect to Elvis, tho.

The problem so far tonight is something the judges have commented on all season long. That, singing songs so strongly identified with music legends, is a recipe for disaster.

Thanks. This is so wierd. I am on the west coast and just reading your posts here. But it is fun to hear in advance!
Come on, Elliott. Be strong.

Chris was singing Elvis from the Ghetto. Couldn't stand the moves...but hey just my opinion.
