Please explain your assertion that "a lot of Chris's votes went to Katharines by mistake". Thank you in advance for your response.

I'll be watching for Chris' CD whenever it comes out. Walmart features the Idol's CD's when they come out, so I'll check there first.

I think it'll be Kelly and Elliot as the final two.

What do you think, could Randy have picked a more boring song for Taylor than 'You Are So Beautiful'?

Heck NO! That's a perfect song for Taylor - and he will remake that song. Not that anyone could do it better than JC, it's just that the song is Taylor Made!!!

Oh man, I started reading this thread at the end, now I'm going to have to tredge back thru post to find out where this info came from!! ;-)

American Idol: Is It Paula Abdul’s Fault That Chris Daughtry Was Eliminated?

http://www.realitytvmagazine.com/blog/2006/05/american_idol_i.html

snip

What’s more, it appears Ms. Abdul has made a dramatic recovery from her devastation over Daughtry’s elimination. Ms. Abdul was feeling well enough to tell People Magazine, “I am going to be honest with you - I want Elliott to win.” Ms. Abdul was even bold enough to tell People Magazine, “I feel like I changed the face of the competition by making America wake up and see the talent that Elliott possesses."

Could Paula Abdul have wanted Elliott Yamin to win all along? Did Ms. Abdul know that by telling Daughtry that he was bound for the finals that his fans might ease up and not vote enough? Was her profuse praise of Elliott’s two performances a calculated move to push him ahead in the competition? While we’re just having a little fun with this conspiracy and don’t really think Paula Abdul had a dastardly plan to eliminate Chris Daughtry, there is a very real possibility that her comments did contribute to Daughtry fans thinking he was safe and not voting as aggressively as they otherwise would have. Paula Abdul might very well have unintentionally played a major role in Chris Daughtry’s downfall.

If the people voteing for him slacked off to the extent that he lost, wouldn't you think that would have showed in the voting totals. From the totals given more votes are cast every week. That doesn't make sense to me.

Not necessarily. His fans may have voted normally the week before and just slacked off this week. Maybe they figured they would take a dialing break and really go at it next week for him.

The thing I find odd is that Kat only beat him by a very small margin. If she had alledgedly 3 phone lines going in her favor and he only had one. Wouldn't she have beat him by a much larger margin?

Bucky Covington Rumored To Be Meeting With Sawyer Brown

http://www.realitytvmagazine.com/blog/2006/05/bucky_covington.html

All the news agencies are busy reporting on the band Fuel's offer to Chris Daughtry, but it turns out that there is another American Idol finalist that might be getting an offer to join a major band. American Idol finalist Bucky Covington has recently turned up in Nashville, Tennessee. A Reality TV Magazine reader spotted Bucky Covington in the Nashville Airport, and a caller to Nashville radio station WSIX reported seeing Bucky Covington at a local Nashville restaurant.

The caller to WSIX also had some inside scoop on why Bucky is in Nashville. According to the caller, Bucky has been meeting with Mark Miller and Sawyer Brown to discuss a possible deal with them. Sawyer Brown’s interest in Bucky Covington was first reported the day after Bucky’s elimination from American Idol 5.

During the Queen performance show, Bucky Covington performed “Fat Bottomed Girls.” The performance drew rave reviews from fans and Idol reviewers, and many considered it to be one of the better performances of the night. Surprisingly, Bucky was eliminated after his breakout performance. Even though turning in his best performance of the competition wasn’t enough to safe Bucky, it looks like it succeeded in getting him noticed and could very well lead to a record deal for him.

Something else I wonder about regarding the alledged bad number voting. Most of us here watch the show, then vote and pop a few posts in, during the time.

If one of us dialed our favorite and got a different voice and we double checked our dialing and still got the wrong person, we'd have been making posts not only here but at AI's official forums and other fan forums and sending emails IMMEDIATELY. We wouldn't a day and a half later to mention it. We wouldn't have waited until after our favorite got voted out.

It's more likely that Paris' votes went primarily to Kat and that hurt Chris.
