Yep, that's the one. It's a good song, and should be a good fit for Elliott. Probably why Paula chose it.

You know darn well those rose petals will shrivel in her presence!

Having just spent a little bit of time with him I will tell you that he is extremely flattered with all of the attention, he's extremely appreciative of all the support he is getting and is still as modest and "Aw shucks" as can be.....Aw... that's sweet. Doesn't surprise me greatly, though -- Elliott appears to be the sort of person that would not easily get a puffed head! So glad he is having a good time with all this.
NOW -- where are the pics??? :)

Oh my!
Before Taylor started his closing number he said:
"It's good to be away from the World's Largest Karioke Competition."
LMAO

SEE HERE : http://mjsbigblog.com/categories/americanIdol/
MJs Big Blog ( good source for song spoilers ) says this :
Taylor Hicks - Taylor's personal song choice is "Try a Little Tenderness" - via a radio interview this morning (Taylor said his song was a "love song that wasn't cleared because it didn't fit the 'so-called' genre").
To: misterrob
Hi misterrob. Thanks for the synopsis of Elliott's trip home. Sounds like such fun. I'm overjoyed for him. :)

Yep, it was me that asked about her. She seems to be an exceptional person.Good, then I'm glad I pinged you to the post. Re Kelly: So far anyway, she is totally unaffected by being a celebrity. She still loves Texas and considers it home, kind of like a certain fellow who lives in a big white house in DC. :)

I didn't get a chance to post this earlier. Katharine was on Good Day L.A. this morning (Fox). All of the contestants who get voted off are interviewed on that show the day after, and most of them are exactly as we see them on the show. Katharine wasn't.
She was more bubbly, relaxed, poised and outgoing than many of us had thought. She's a chatterbox. She seemed much nicer than she sometimes has seemed on the show. I liked seeing her this way.
Katharine said that right now she wants to pursue a recording career, but that ultimately she wants to be an actress and do films.
She thought she was going home this week, because she feels the judges have been hard on her the last three weeks or so. So she was shocked when Chris went home -- not so much because it was Chris but because it wasn't her.
Katharine said her mom is not a stage mother. But Katharine avoided answering the question about how early her vocal training started. She said she worked with another vocal coach aside from her mom. Mentioned a name, but it's been about seven hours since I saw her appearance, so I don't remember the name.
All in all, it was a fun, bubbly, chatty interview.

I'm not a betting kind of person, but even if I was, I don't think there is any way we can really predict the winner until after Tuesday I'm not a gambler either. I guess it's the dirty little side of American Idol no one is really willing to talk about openly.

Looks like Fox 6 in Birmingham just announced that Randy picked Taylor's song, and it's "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker.
That means Simon picks for Kat.

Hi, CB :)
How dare your 4 year old get sick on Idol night! *kidding* ;)
I thought the way Seacrest announced Chris leaving was cruel. I know he gets paid to create the element of surprise, but that seemed downright mean. Hubby and I replayed it several times and the look on Chris' face is absolutely heartbreaking. He was clearly in shock.
Yep.
Not to beat a dead horse, but your post gives me a chance to post some good screencaps I found of the elimination:
The bottom two are announced. Everyone's sure it's McPhee going home--including McPhee.
Then Seacrest drops the bomb ...
