Been watching since the beginning and have come to the conclusion that it's Simon who needs to be voted OFF.

Actually I do, occasionally, when asked. Last week I spoke with a newly dxed 16 yo and her family for awhile up in peds.

Denial is a big problem with both diabetics and family members. Stress hormones are counter-regulatory and a big factor behind ED admissions.

It's saddens me that so much of society is so ignorant about diabetes. Read the stats sometime. There's only a future in life with diabetes if you take care of yourself, and plan carefully for each change in routine.

I always hit the rewind button at the end of "I Alone" so I could hear it again :)

I Alone is my favorite Live song. When it comes up on my iPod I always listen to it at least twice. Honestly, I was hoping to see Chris sing that this week for his choice. I would have loved to watch the "he just screams everything" people as that song has a lot of "angry" lyrics. Great, great song.

"Nineties were a lousy decade for rock? Hmmm, don't car for the Seattle influence like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, or Soundgarden? What about Stone Temple Pilots? Live was good, Tool, Chili Peppers did some good stuff during that decade, Jane's Addiction was good"

I rest my case.

Again, arguing about what is "good" music is like arguing about who is a better painter: Monet, VanGough or Picasso...

The ego hasn’t landed.

“American Idol” castoff Chris Daughtry thinks voter laziness, not lousy vocals, got him booted from the Fox talent show Wednesday night.

“You know what, maybe people thought I was safe and didn’t vote as much,” said the 26-year-old rocker in a conference call yesterday.

Considered a favorite to win among the judges, bloggers and even online betting sites, the wannabe star said he tried to block the hype out the best he could.

But it looks as though it didn’t work.

“When everyone is telling you you are going to win, it’s a real blow,” he said. “(It was) very gut-wrenching the way it happened. I thought (Ryan Seacrest) was building it up that people thought I was going home or say ‘Chris, you are going home tomorrow . . . on a private jet to your hometown.’ I thought he was just kidding. I was not expecting that, not even a little.”

But the pompous performer does expect a “flood of opportunities,” including a deal with the band Fuel.

“I can’t really talk about (offers),” he said. “Some are lined up. I’ve got to feel out all offers and what’s right for me. I have to take everything into consideration and be careful. I don’t want to make a rash decision. (But) I’m a songwriter myself and to be able to launch my own career is my dream.”

He went to the same high school as a couple of the members of the group Pantera. (don't know if you have heard of them)

My husband must have gone to school with your son. Bowie?

Chris got tossed out because he sang A Little Less Conversation, A Little More Action, which is an anti-female song. Women got angry and refused to vote for him this time!

Better off with out the AI contract???

Where would any of these guys be without AI??

I have no doubt any contracts from AI put AI to the advantage, but I think that's only right, and something an AI contestant should know about before they sign. If they sign well then no one should gripe about an AI contract. JMO

Chris got tossed because he hit a wall with his fan base.

I can't think of any of the ones whose been voted off that their votes would have went to him.

He was talented, no doubt, but to a limited audience. Looks to me the audience has spoken and the majority DON"T like alt rock.

I think it's interesting that the voting base is supposedly teenagers, and Taylor is probably going to win....Maybe out youth are smarter then I thought:)

"Again, arguing about what is "good" music is like arguing about who is a better painter: Monet, VanGough or Picasso..."

I wasn't arguing.

I made a statement that music in the nineties was a lousy decade for rock and roll and I stand by it.

Who? My brother laughs at me all the time - he's always going to some concert here in Mobile or the surrounding areas of people I've never heard of in my life! He hates country so he thinks I'm a lost cause! (Though I have to admit he did go with me to BayFest to see Craig Morgan and had to admit he liked him....)

I know it's not pleasant - last year was the first year I discovered you and I couldn't wait for this season to start so the thread was up and kicking again!

I absolutely agree....during Josh's season Simon acted at times like he could barely stand him. The only time he gave him any kind of encouragement was during Country music week when he told him that was his genre. But Josh was always gracious, always smiling...and then when he did get the boot and brought his daughter up on the stage, I cried. What a class act! And thank goodness Rascal Flatts "discovered" him....he's on his way now!

I do believe that many of Chris' fans thought Chris was safe and that is why they slacked off on voting for him or simply it might be that many of his fans knew in their hearts that Chris would be better off without the AI title and that is why they got lazy about voting for him.

I truly believe we will see the overall voting totals go way down. I believe on EXTRA (ABC) they said there was 48 million votes come in for this weeks show. I don't think we will see 48 million votes come in next week, but I have been wrong in the past. (the week before there was 46 million votes when they had 5 contestants and then this past week when there was only 4 contestants the number rose to 48 million.)

I think you've contradicted yourself here.

Josh Gracin, I think, was high up on the country charts as a solo act, I think - not with Rascal Flatts.

He is deaf in one ear also. How he can sing the way he does when he can't hear from one side is beyond me. I like both the guys and would be happy with whoever wins! I also love Taylor's grey hair.

What I meant was that Rascal Flatts took him under their wing - in fact, either they produced his first cd or their producer did....but he owes a lot to them....

The Nineties was a complete waste of time

APART FROM A FEW SINGERS, I CAN'T ARGUE WITH THAT REALLY. Unless you call HIP HOP, RAP and GANGSTA something we can all celebrate.
