I call on ALL of Soul Patrol right now! Wherever you are in the world. Gather ’round everyone, old and young, newbie and veteran, and new SPers. I have a message, and a plan. This is “The Gospel of Taylor Hicks” for the next two weeks.

If you read the “Umpteen Soul Patrollers…” thread, then you know that I was on the American Idol stage with Taylor during the May 9 rehearsal. You have read about his embracing me for a long 10 seconds there. I have not told anyone - ANYONE! about the following, saving it until this moment. I’ve told you that I felt I was up there representing Soul Patrol all over the world. I feel that what Taylor said to me is not intended just for me, but for all of Soul Patrol, world-wide. Fasten your seatbelts.


I said quietly, in his ear: “Do you really want to win this thing?” Taylor said: “I want it more than anything.” I said, “Well then Soul Patrol is going to give it to you.”

When we grasped each other’s hands just as I left the stage, we were making some really strong eye contact. I felt I was trying to say to him (right under Ryan’s nose…haha) “We’re going to give it to you.” His expression seemed steady and strong…like…”I believe you.”

Fuel is a Sony BMG artist right? Winning American Idol is not something endearing to an alternative rock fan. Not to mention that there is not a single solo artist in the genre. Could this have been "scripted"? Works out very perfectly for everyone involved if you ask me.......

Tommy Mottola liked Chris. Fuel is signed with Sony Epic, which Mottola has ties to!

I understand that all the contestants except for the winner and runner-up are released from their Idol contract three months after the season finale. That would mean that Chris can explore other options before making any kind of committment to Fuel. This could be better for him than winning, actually.

If you cut and paste the below, you can see the brief little clip of Fuel's offer to Chris. I love how they said "if he'd entertain it again", they'd "entertain" it as well. Some "offer". What does the word -- "again" mean ? Does it mean Chris entertained the offer in the past ?

Hey, I wanted to just thank all of you who supported Chris while he was on the show. Although I was sad by the decision last night, I know that God has good things in store for our family. This would not have happened if it was not what was best for us. Now time to move on to fun stuff..Chris will be on Leno tonight at 11:30pm. Friday you can see him on Extra, Access Hollywood, Inside Edition, CNN, and he will performer on ET. Monday you can see him on Ellen, and Regis and Kelly (he will perform), and TRL. Tuesday he will be on The Today show. Please watch all the shows you can. We want the networks to know we love Chris. After all that he has to start preparing for the finally which is on the 24Th. Chris has been so busy and I know he needs some time off after the finally. I know everyone is excited to see him but we will probably be in hiding for awhile in some shack in the woods. :) If it is possible some wonderful supporters may be planning a big get together everyone can attend before he heads out for the tour. I agree RK 1000%....of course, IF it had been my Taylor who had been kicked off maybe the world would have shifted on its axis!!!! and SJ, WHAT do you mean IF Chris' fans continue to watch....I have watched all 5 seasons and even when the one I want gets kicked off (of course, in season 2 it was Clay, season 3 - heck can't remember, season 4 - either Carrie or Bo) I still watch.....oh and BTW, for all those who posted this week about those who didn't make it (and they seemed to imply Carrie was one), well Josh Gracin has had one #1, three Top Tens, and now a new CD with a song soaring toward Top Ten....I love that kid and Simon never, ever got him!

Fuel to Give Daughtry the Break of a Lifetime

The multi-platinum rock band Fuel has offered 'American Idol's' Chris Daughtry a gig with the band.

TMZ has learned that Fuel will make the offer in an exclusive interview on the television show 'EXTRA' tonight.

In a stunning turn of events, Daughtry, who was the odds-on favorite to win the 'Idol' competition, was booted last night.

Daughtry was on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show in Los Angeles this morning, where the 'A.I.' host, who is in on the secret, urged the singer to watch 'EXTRA' tonight.

If this is true, Fuel will have to wait until after Chris is out of the AI contract. Since he finished 4th, I think that will be sometime after the summer tour. However, I think the AI powers that be get first rights to sign him.
