Check out graycharles.com lots to download and listen to there, from both his In Your Time and Under The Radar CD's. I really like a lot his original music. West Texas Sky off the Under the Radar cd is good, so is Soul Thing.
Any of the contestants could put out cd's on their own. Granted they don't get the radio airplay that would really help them. A lot of people make their own from their homes.
Some seem to have been hiding their talents and that isn't the fault of those that haven't. jmo
That's what my grandparents said about Elvis!
Wolfie, thanks for the pics.
The families of the final four must be so proud, and rightfully so.
I posted last week about DI having posts regarding the underestimated votes of Kat and their attributing it to text votes.
On vibrato: One of my granddaughters had an elementary school music teacher who went overboard on the vibrato. Little g-daughter imitated her whenever singing for us. It was soooo funny! The kid said her music teacher had "a wobbly voice".
HAHAHAHAHA! Then he would have asked her to model some white cotton panties for him! (That was --purportedly--Elvis's big turn-on! HA!)
Someone suggested last night that Simon finally gave up on Katharine. I think they were right. With 4 remaining and KAt being the worst last night and not having a good night last week, I think Simon had to make a decision and he cut bait with her.
I think you're a week off. What you described was two weeks ago, from 4/26/.
I was about to have my precious daughter so I remember the news well. Her birthday is Aug. 17, 1977
I hope no one, no parent, no friend, no sibling ever tells ANYONE that this is their last chance to pursue their dream.
I noticed during the scenes around the piano at Graceland, that there were barrior ropes visible in the hallway. Apparently those are in place to keep the touring public out of certain rooms. I thought it a bit tacky to leave them up in this instance.
The pre-established fan base is often used to put down Taylor. The truth is that the Soul Patrol came about in late Feb/March on the AI boards. His fan base was based got started when his audition was aired. People who don't normally watch the show heard him and immediately started looking up information about that gray haired guy.
Taylor actually put Under the Radar together late last year after he auditioned from what I read. It is basically a demo. It is NOT a studio quality album. It is very good and enjoyable though. It's well worth my money but it's a good demo record. Taylor simply capitalized on the fact that his name would be recognizable from the audition. He did major in business, marketing and communications. He evidently paid attention too.
Why should he and others like him be constantly put down for sticking to their dream? That has been the one thing that Elliott's fans have been whining about on every board. Taylor has earned his place in the competition. His dad had basically given him the talk about career change and this was his last shot at making it in the music business.
The ONLY criteria the show has is not to be signed to a major record label and meet the age requirements. That's it. If they wanted more restrictions as to who can compete then they would provide more restrictions.
I liked him ,too and he took and still does to some extent, take a beating on the threads.
Gee, does Priscilla EVER smile?
If this holds it will be a shocker.
