"I think the 3 Dog Night was a reference to an all-male semi-final. Was it you that made that comment? That's the way I took it"No, I can't take credit for it.
Mainly because I am still hoping for a Two dog, One Kat night.

I know I might be in the minority here, but I just don't believe there's a conspiracy to have one particular person win over another.
I'll join you in the minority. It makes me laugh to see how folks take comments by one judge or another and they blow that up to be a big conspiracy thing.
Still think Chris and Taylor are miles ahead of Elliot when it comes to being "The American Idol". But then again, I never have "gotten" Elliott.

I didn't know you needed tickets. I always thought it was a matter of just showing up. Iv'e got a few things I'd like to know about but I hate waiting in line. Maybe I'll sign up next time they're here in DC.
Thanks!

The American Idols of the past were the people like Pickler, Bucky and Elliott who came from no where to step into the show and grow. Who was Kelly Clarkson before this? Clay? Fantasia? Carrie? Rueben?
Now we have people on the show with pre-established fan bases, already released CDs, band experience and serious musical backgrounds.

I totally agree about Paris. She was worse than Kat in this aspect. However, I don't think Kat has developed her own style to the extent that the other contestants have. What do you think her style is?
For example, I can look at the performances from last night and say that the men were consistent with their own styles. Kat was kind of all over the place on the first number. The second was more of what I would think her style should be, but was overdone.
I think she is VERY talented, but needs some artistic development. That's why, IMO, she is the weakest contestant.
BTW, My daughter is angry at me for that opinion. She loves Kat.

I'm wondering how text messaging affects this?
I think Chris and Kat are both receiving more text message support, and cell phone support. Can/does DI measure cell phone voters, or just land line voters?
I noticed in voting for Chris last night that I could get through a lot on his 2nd line and not so much on his first line with a land line. However, in trying to get through on a cell phone, I got through maybe once out of 20-30 calls.

THey were right the week before too.
They were correct on bottom two. But completely missed Chris and Katherine as the top 2. Way underestimated Kat's vote and over estimated both Taylor and Elliot's vote. Probably underestimated Chris and Kat's support because of cell phones and text messages.

Maybe she's self-concious about being a little thicker than what women are "supposed" to look like according to Vogue. But speaking as a lust-filled guy :) she has a GREAT body. And she looks great when she wears form fitting clothes.Exactly! I think she must be self-conscious about her supposedly thick waist, and I think she's also self-conscious about those bodacious ta-tas. Did you see her reaction after the commercial last week (the one where they all ended up wearing those weird costumes, and she was in a horizontally striped, very form-fitting minidress)? The dress made her look cartoonish, of course, but it also showed off a bombshell body. The camera cut to their reactions afterward, and she looked absolutely horrified. I hope she learns to appreciate her body and be comfortable with it while she is still young and looks that good!

Kat has an amazing voice but she would do well with a professional trainer.Um, hate to tell you, but McPhee's mother is a pro voice teacher and has been working with her for years. Also, Kat had a year at some big-cheese voice conservatory (can't remember the name right now)>
There is still room for improvement, of course, since she is young, but she IS trained. What you hear right now is largely what you're gonna get.

I think Fantasia comment, and you have to imagine the voice with it too, was this,"My lips may be big, but my talent is bigger!" Blah..Barf...Gag...Hurl! She really annoys me....Puke!
I wanted Latoya London to win that year. She was flawless.
I'll have to check out the link to Taylor's performances. I really like him, but I just haven't been wowed by him. He has a lot of experience, and to me, has been consistent, but not better each week. I don't know, it may just be personal preference. It would be good to hear a CD though. It wouldn't have the loud band element.
Chris's voice just make me melt, when he doesn't screech. It's appropriate for some parts of songs, but he does have a tendency to overdo it. Looking at him makes up for it though. I would like to see him put out a CD with mellower songs. I think he will have a lot of opportunities following AI, even if he goes home tonight, which he better not!
Elliot's nice and he has a great voice, but he bores me. I've never connected with any of his song choices. Neither has my husband. I'm just not an R&B person. He has a tendency to pick obscure songs that aren't well know.
My husband wants Kat to win. I wonder why?

They posted something on their site about the Kat situation. First of all, they were within their margin of error so you can say that they got it wrong but what they are really measuring is voting trends.
Secondly, they looked at their data and found some abnormalities that had Kat looking worse than she actually did. They have created an updated version and you needed to have installed it last night to use it.
I still see too many ways to bias the system in favor of once candidate but at least they seem to point you in the right direction. Another outcome is that West Coast people can see where people are and focus attention on particular contestants.

Elliot was at his best tonight. He's by far the best singer in the competition. I think he's probably one of the best ever on AI. The boy can just flat out sing! Agreed. Wholeheartedly.

2) I dislike vibrato as much as I dislike falsetto, maybe more, since less or it, can still be annoying to me. Some thought it was nervousness, but it was deliberate, and that first song reeked of it when it started. I agree. To me it is distracting. I thought Elliot's second song was the best he has performed. The first I did not like because of the over the top vibrato.
