That's okay, I don't think Taylor likes or cares about Simon to be honest. Like he said, what does Simon know about American music and what we like? Taylor made Simon irrelevant this year. Simon was unable to manipulate Taylor's fans.

I think those two engaged in a bit of a battle of will and wits over the course of the season, and Taylor won. Simon's shoulder shrug, saying "that's show business" while declaring Taylor the new Idol seemed to me to be the white flag.

Simon failed to manipulate America into Chris or Kat, he failed to kill Taylor's spirit, and he wound up with egg on his face. That's why he recently described Taylor in one word: "Strong".

Simon's bluff has been called by none other than Taylor himself. He really is clueless about what we want here. Ace is cute but he's a weak singer and doesn't have that wow factor to be more than maybe a soap opera actor IMO. Kellie may do well if she's given an appropriate sit com but I don't see her making it as a long term singer.

Simon actually preferred Kellie to Carrie Underwood. He hated Clay. He bashed Taylor. He promotes Il Divo, the cheesiest group going.

Well, there were several, a good deal younger than her this year and they carried themselves a heck of a lot better than her.

I agree Kat is not evil! And also agree on the immature and self-centered bit, I have attributed that to her indulgent parents. But at some point one has to break away and become an adult. It will be harder for her is she continues to receive this level of adulation.

BTW, mrob, as one with inside info, can you confirm or deny what Taylor is/was like around AI, or at least throw us some hints? Mucho gracias!

Constantine Courts Kellie Pickler

Rumors have been swirling that former American Idol finalists Constantine Maroulis and Kellie Pickler are an item. Recently, Maroulis went shopping at Santa Monica's L.F. boutique and told store staff that he was looking for a "rock and roll look" for a "very special friend."
