So far, Taylor to me has ACTED like a conservative, politics notwithstanding. He has been humble, gracious and kind. He has worked hard to be successful and remembers the people around him. He talks like Limbaugh when discussing how he needs to become and stay successful - trusting gut instinct, hard work, keeping focus, etc. No sense of entitlement or haughty air. He has represented the South with dignity and affection. If he is a Democrat (not that I need or want to know) we need more like that!

Re Taylor's rumored political leanings, does EVERYTHING have to be about politics? Whatever Taylor may or may not be politically, I don't give a rat's butt as long as he doesn't disrespect the country, the flag, our armed forces or the presidency, and as long as he doesn't misuse his new-found fame by throwing his politics in my face.

No, he leaves that up to his "hero."

Time will tell their goal for the Soul Patrol.

Me too. I hope he kicks himself all the time. We all want this for people who have rejected us. In a way Taylor is living that dream also!

FYI -- In only it's 2nd day on the chart, Taylor's new single 'Do I Make You Proud' is already up to #66 on the Mediabase Pop Radio Airplay chart (rising 5 spots in 24 hours). It's now being played by 266 stations.

It is #1 on their Pop "Taking Off" chart by a wide margin.

Keep in mind that this single is not on a label yet and has not been officially released. This is a terrific chart debut.

The lyrics of the song -- DO I MAKE YOU PROUD could in fact be a dedication to the men and women of our military. See Post number # 10,741

Give the politics a rest. The vast majority of the American public does not eat, sleep and breathe politics like many FReepers do. I sure don't. Not only that, but I don't resent people who have different politics from me unless they give me a reason to do so.

Do you think some of the success is that dj's like Taylor for being 'unique' and are eagerly playing the coronation song to help him along?

Hey can one of you point me to a site that has the percentages of Taylor over Kat?

I have seen general references but I can't seem to be able to find the exact figures.

Very interesting you say that. I had a friend who said his mother always told him to be good in life because if you're not people won't talk about you, they will talk about your parents. That is so true.

If program directors are adding Taylors song to their rotation, it's probobly because people chose him as the winner of an incredibly high-rated show. People want to hear the song and the artist.

I have worked for program directors who would FREAK OUT over any deviation from rotation (even though they knew the song I played was much better than the one I was supposed to play!!) :)

It's all about what's selling at the moment.

Could be, but I wouldn't be honest if I didn't also say that AI a golden cash cow for all sorts of peripheral businesses these days, from advertisers to radio stations. If Boccelli really is going to take McWitch on tour, trust me. It won't be because of her voice. It will be the AI hook.

The only thing I read about actual figures was a post somewhere saying the figures were printed at FOXnational? I tried to find more but couldn't

Gee thanks. What would I have done without it. As for your "gut fears," if you're wringing your hands over the potential politics of a fellow who just won a talent contest, you've got more to worry about than you may realize.
