PS - I'm not your pal. I wouldn't "pal" around with such a punch-bowl turd as you. I will be ignoring any more of your posts, excepting some attempt at graciousness on your part, for I know it would be a waste of time and energy.

The Beatles were rejected by Decca on numcerous occasions. After listening to their demos, the record exec said Beatles had no commercial appeal and that no one would buy their records.

Well, that is a fair point...but I keep coming back to, "This is a guy who should be singing backgrounds..." I can't beleive Simon actually thought this after what he and I just saw. I just refuse to believe Simon didn't see the wonderful uniqueness Taylor was bringing to that audition like I did. Remember Simon also said no, "because Paula and Randy would not put Taylor in the finale group to be judged by the public."

You may be right...last night on Larry King LIve he told Ryan Seacrest that Simon pushed him to prove he could do it.

Watching the Larry King show, hosted by Ryan. Randy just confirmed my earlier comments about Simon NOT liking Taylor and NOT getting him, even now. Randy said that Simon doesn't understand the south. Taylor piped up that Simon doesn't understand Americans! lol

OK, Remember Simon said at the auditon, It wasn't just about the singing, and Taylor proved it. I think Simon really did like Taylor's singing, he just didn't think his presence would be marketable.

LOL! I know it sounds like I'm debating you on this, and maybe Simon doesn't understand Americans, but he had to see the unique quality Taylor possessed. I think you, Randy and Taylor are right about Simon not like Taylor's style, but there's no way Simon didn't see Taylor's talent.

You mean like describing Paula as "the latest ride at 6-Flags" when he was on Jay Leno?

LOL!!! Look, Taylor not only has incredibly unique dance moves, he also has an unparalleled way to describe things ;-)

I think it was just somthing for him to say. They liked TAylor and he knew that! Simon was just being a jerk. They send that Dave Hoover or whatever his name was through, and they all thought he was terrible but Randy and Paula did it just to get back at Simon for something he did earlier.

Maybe he just respects the politician part of the equation. I mean, even I have to admit that BC is a fine politician....he was just a horrible President. Oh well, maybe Taylor will grow out of that. :)

That's true.
He's a song writer and chooses his words carefully, plans fastidiously.
He knew exactly what he was saying.

That's why posted what I did. Because that's what I initially thought, but in all fairness, I think Netizen makes some good points too, after reading what Netizen, and floridaobserver have posted it's making me question my theory.

Sorry, Clinton is not a fine man in any sense of the term.

Our children were devastated they had to grow up during his 2 terms.
They saw the effect his scandals had on their peers, and Taylor did, too.
And he admires the man for it.

I'm sorry Taylor~ you do NOT make me proud.

See, this may be my problem. I don't know what's gone on enough because this is the first year I've really watched the show...but I will say as soon as I saw Taylor I knew America would love him and he would make it!

Heck, I don't even really like the style he potrays, but I knew it was something special, and then I saw him do "Takin' It To The Streets," I absoultely LOVED that and said this guy is LOCK to win!

My theory is: If I and the rest of America can see this guys talent, surely Simon had to see it, because you don't even have to contemplate it, you just knew Taylor had it!

His hero is a rapist and a traitor. Add that to your tagline.

Traitors come in many flavors. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

But Simon is a BRIT! That's what Randy meant by saying that Simon doesn't get the south. And that Hovver thing was this year.

Right! And this is why Simon didn't like Taylor's style, but I don't think for a second Simon didn't realize his talent. "The Should be singing backgrounds" comment was acknowledging Taylor could sing, but simon HAD to know that comment would piss off any singer auditioning to be the next American Idol, especially a guy who was singing Sam Cook, and portraying Joe Cocker!

"Don't change a thing," he ordered. "The problem with you Hollywood people is you always want to change things, and you ruin everything," Carter quotes him as saying.

Except they did change things-- both for the better. They didn't want two hosts like Pop Idol and ditched Dunkelman as soon as they could. They didn't want 4 judges like Pop Idol (in event of a tie, Cowell was the tie-breaker in Pop Idol) and told Rupert's people that they were waiting to hear back from some of the people they wanted for the 4th judge and that they suggested the show start with 3 and then just add the 4th later (which was likely one big fat lie-- a very clever one, and the right way to get what they wanted). Seeing shows like Nashville Star and others, it makes you realize what brilliant (almost psychic) people the casting folks were to choose Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. Both were really out of left field and you couldn't think of better choices-- because they serve the purpose of being personalities (not so much judges), which is critical to a reality show's success.

Not think of anyone better than a guy with a 20 word vocabulary?
