I've seen a lot of threads on Free Republic about this show "24." Is it any good? Or is it just another liberal claptrap show like "West Wing."

I hardly ever watch any TV except reruns of COPS and maybe a football game here and there. Since getting my video iPod, I've downloaded two TV shows that I think are okay. One of them is "Lost" - a show about an airplane that crashed on a remote island and all sorts of weird things start happening with them. The other show is "The Office" which is a sitcom that I can tolerate because it does not have an intelligence insulting laughtrack and it is about a typical American office that quite funny. I especially liked the episodes that dealt with political correctness like that "Sexual Harrassment" episode in which some corporate flunky came to the branch office to talk about sexual harrassment in the workplace.

So what of this "24" show? Liberal crap? Or is it worth checking out?

I do not think this show is available yet on iTunes.

"Ah, yeah......"

Definitely worth it! Rent them and you can watch a marathon without commercials....pretty intense that way!

Oh, and when you tune in 9:00 EST tomorrow...remember to turn UP your volume.
Though the characters speak in a normal voice...seems so much comes though as a high whisper.
Perhaps it's intentional...to heighten concentration, to add to stress.

And have a Samuel Adams whenever you hear 'protocal', 'perimeter' ;)

Liberal crap? Noooooooooooooo! Joel Surnow (creator of the show) loves Rush. It's one of the best series I've ever seen.

When I got the first season on DVD (I'd never seen it on TV before, but got it on the advice of FReepers), I watched the first 7 episodes in one afternoon/evening. The only reason I stopped was because I had to go to bed and get up in five hours. I got the rest of the seasons on DVD immediately afterwards, and ended up watching the first 11 episodes of season three in one day. It's addictive!

I'd list the "Must See TV Shows" like this:
5. NCIS- CSI with a dose of humor.
4. House- CSI in a hospital, and with a generous bit of humor, with a touch of Sherlock Holmes.
3. Monk- funniest show on TV, and very Sherlock Holmes.
2. Battlestar Galactica- if it weren't for 24, this would be the best, most intense show around.
1. 24.

Hardly that. It's definitely hard core. Jack Bauer simply must have an autographed 8 x 10 glossy of Ronald Reagan in his office.
