The cliff hanger of SG Atlantis had the wraiths heading off to Earth..... What are they going to do warp in just in time to say "were here to eat you all" and immediately get vaporised in the cross fire of a Galactic War?

Claudia Black and Amanda Tapping mmm someone could talk me into the advantages of polygamy. :)

Like the many Star Trek series - SG-1 has lost the basic premise that made the series a success. exploration of the unknown.
Not wars and battles with intergalactic zombies and Sharia Muslim wannabe priests.
I predict that this will be the last season of SG-1.
Remember Captain Cisco and the founders? What a load of horsehoey. SG-1 seems to have hired the same brain dead writers that lack imaginations.

I have no problem with shows about Galactic wars for instance "Space Above and Beyond" or many successful scifi written works. SG1 has lacked writers from the get go, but has basically stayed alive because other better written shows were on more ratings driven venues like fox. On scifi a small blip of loyal voewers can keep a mediocre show alive where that same blip will do nothing at fox.

Not wars and battlesI seem to remember that the movie and all of the early shows were essentially fights against the ancient pseudo - God bad guys.
To: Sentis
I was thinking the same thing. Wraiths vs Ori sounds good.
They need JACK back to kick all their butts.
To: Sentis
I've been wondering how they'll handle that.

Ya Da, Ya Da, Ya Da,
You people bad rap SG-1 as it goes into it's tenth(10) year,
How long was "Space Above and Beyond"? six weeks, that's not even mediocre.
SG-1 RULES,

Mr. Peel believes that the fanaticism of the Ori = Muslim fundamentalism.
To: KevinDavis
In the ninth-season finale, which just aired on SCI FI, the villainous Ori had sent immense starships into our galaxy to fight the forces of Earth and its allies. They must be pretty stupid. War between interstellar civilizations is pretty easy. Look up high fractional C bombardment.

oooh an SG-1 post, I have still much to catch up on the show I keep buying the DVD sets because I have no time to watch it when it airs and I still have no time to catch up on the DVDs =P.
But I must say I am not one of these hollyweird artsy types so I have no idea what 'good writing' would entail, but I enjoy the shows and that's all that matters to me.
I also find it refreshing that for the most part there is no social preaching going on in the shows unlike Star Trek TNG etc. and the military is not vilified.
So here's a big thumbs up for many more seasons to come.

SG1 left me cold, but I found SG: Atlantis to be quite interesting... having the Canadian be a whiny type only adds to the realism.

Next season will also see the permanent addition of Claudia Black (Vala) as a regular cast member, joining Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, Christopher Judge and Beau Bridges.
Farscape fans rejoice.

That's what I was thinking. And it would be poetic justice.
