I would expect Bay to have another 5 or 6 years, maybe even more. You take excellent care of him, and Arabians can be very long lived.

I hope to have another 10 years at least with Jake. He has no health issues other than the normal stiffness that comes with age. I keep him on a joint supplement that contains HA (hyaluronic acid).

Now that he is here at the house instead of boarded out, I get to enjoy him all the time. I don't think I will ever board my horses out again. I am too used to having them around all the time. I drink my first cup of coffee in the morning with Jake and Henkell while they eat breakfast.

Hey, I just invited a lady from the NATRC site to join us here. I've been chatting with her privately. Just wanted to ask, I gave her the address at the top of the this page...where is that going to take her? Will that get her here even if she's not a member? I don't know when you send it at Yahoo if it's a link, or just an address.

She may have to copy and paste it, it might get to her as text instead of a link, but a link to this thread ought to get her here even if she's not a member yet. Certainly if she enrolled and can't find it, you could ping her.

I welcome her to the thread in advance! Tell her she doesn't ~have~ to read this whole thread to catch up :~) I should have started a new one 2,000 posts ago.

At least you always know exactly where you stand with Cyn, she doesn't lie or sugar-coat her feelings. :~)

Maybe, and I'd like that... though I don't think he'll work that long.

I'm with you on never wanting to board horses somewhere else again. I love looking out my window at them all day. If I had to drive to go see them, I would miss that.

Hey, I went and looked at my "sent" folder over there and it posted as link. It does take you to the middle of this page, but hey it would get her here.

Hey, medical question for you.

What happens if you have a cracked, say wrist:), and don't go to the doctor and have it treated. Will it heal on it's own?

My wrist is still not feeling better, and may actually feel worse. I've tried one of the wrist braces, but it doesn't seem to hold my wrist in the right way to keep whatever is hurting from moving to the position that causes the pain. I figured stabilizing it was all the doctor would do anyway, but I can't get whatever hurts to stabilize with this thing. Even with the brace things like throwing my saddle on the horse really really hurts, by the end of a day it hurts no matter what position I hold it in.

Could it still be just a bad bruise??? after 3 weeks??

I just hate going to a doctor...

Bruises, strains and contusions in that area can take time to heal but you have a lot of little bones and ligaments in there too. It only takes a little chip, crack or dis-alignment to cause pain and arthritis can set in. If it's out of alignment they can set and cast. If it's non displaced the cast gives it time to heal without constantly aggravating the area with day to day stuff. If it's been 3 weeks , I would get it checked. Even if it isn't broken you still may need splinting to rest it for healing.

I don't think it's out of alignment. It's not swollen, or if it is it's just a tiny bit. No bruise ever showed up, That's why I didn't think it was anything serious. Maybe if I kept this thing on more it would help, It just aggravates me:)
