Seems like I've heard about those before. They're on the upper gums aren't they? If so, then he didn't have one. If they're on the inside of the upper lip, then I didn't get a good look there.
Oh, I see. I didn't get a good look there. I'll check tomorrow and try to get a more squared up side view of him too. I gotta go. It's 8:30 and I haven't eaten supper yet. Talk to y'all tomorrow...
Have a good night. :~D
(I found that out the hard way. When I had the old racing QH, I first called the Jockey Club - "That's not a Thoroughbred number," said they. Then I called the Standardbred association. Not a SB number either. Only THEN did I call AQHA . . . I mean, he was almost 17 hh and didn't have a big butt, the last thing on earth I was thinking was QH.)
I'm glad he found you. I don't know if this one here is going to make it. He was down again. He looks like he's putting on weight though. The owner is concerned that he will founder.
Does that hurt?
Ah - good tip... I don't know how to interpret the numbers, but I know if you do know, you can tell their birth year from the number.
I bought a bridle halter combination at the Road to the Horse and for the life of me I can't figure out where the bit attaches. Yours looks great. My rings are really high almost to the nose bande.......what do you think I'm doing wrong?
Pinging Becky because it's her halter/bridle combo in the pic, and Frog, because she uses one too.
Sorry about that LOL
You can see the bit is attached with short adjustable straps to a ring halfway up the cheek piece.
Yes that does help....I am going to print that picture and take it with me when I go to the cabin again.
We spent all last week there and it was great. I really wish though that Waylon had a companion down there...I think he gets bored easily. God, am I a softy or what. We rode twice a day and the last day we found a wide creek that he went inot with no problem. I'm so lucky to have bought this horse , he really is something.
I've seen some skinny horses, but that has to be one of the most skinny that I have ever seen. I'd say that he's about a 1 or a 2. And I feel like 2 is being generous. Sweet god. I hate people who treat horses like that.
That sounds terrific, and Waylon sounds like a gem and I'm so glad he's working out so well :~D How terrific that you have your beautiful place to go to.
I'm sorry, I'm not sure which rings your talking about???
Becky
Good for you Waylon does sound like a great horse:)
