Oh, and you know the horses would eat it if they could:). No question about it.

There are actually some interesting statistics coming out that keeping kids clean and inside so much may be making them sick. The theory is that that don't build up resistances.
As you can see, I ran it behind the iris, lilies and elephant ears. It should be fairly well hidden once everything starts to grow. The cord was long enough to go around thru the front door. I'm not sure I'll be able to close the big door now:), but we very seldom close it anyway.

I think it will be hidden completely. I really like the fountain. I've gotten really concious of poisonous plants with horses, cats, dogs and my grandson. He loves to pick flowers when he's here for his mom.
I've believed that theory for years now. My kids very seldom got sick. They didn't have bad allergies. My brothers boys, and the neighbor kids were always sick and always taking antihistimines. I think JP has only been sick 1 time, and boy does that boy get dirty:) and cold, and wet. We can't keep him out of the mud:). He loves it. People just don't get it that cold, wet, and dirty is not what makes kids sick. Germs do:)

I've got extra shoes here (slip on rubber clogs) for my grandson when he's here. They are just like grandma's so he thinks they are cool :)
I looked over and saw a friend's toddler, on all fours, pretending to be a dog, lapping at my dog water bowl. I thought it was really funny... I nudged her mom real quiet like and pointed... Mom freaked out, yelled "NOOOOOOO" and I just laughed. I said "She's just building good immunities!" I don't know why people don't let me babysit :~D
I think it's interesting that apple seeds are toxic to horses. A few won't kill them, like they might get if they eat an apple, but very many at a time can kill them. I pick the obvious seeds out now if I feed apples, but who'd know?
Really raining right now, and looks like the kind of rain that could last all day:)

I think frequently on poisonous plants, it's only a part of them that is - the seeds or the roots, or the plant leaves or sap. :) I used to pick and cook poke weed greens and they are poisonous except for the small new leaves. My neighbor in Alabama was an elderly lady that had a lot of knowledge on local and/or wild plants. I learned a lot from her but have never had the confidence to try some of it out now that I don't have her next door to guide me. I'd probably kill myself.

That's great, hope it gets to the Texas panhandle too.
I encourage my kids to get outside and get dirty. If they are too dirty to come in I make them strip on the back porch. If it's summer, I'll hose them off before they come in.
I'd be afraid to eat anything I picked:)
One of the types of seed I got in the mail the package said the plant was poisionous , I've pretty much decided to not even plant it. With two babies around, it's not worth it.
Is Foxglove bad for humans? The package didn't say.
Becky
Hey, that looks great for us:)
Becky
Me, too!
"US" was inclusive of me and you:)
Becky
You know, I thought of that after I posted "me too." Brain....not...working.... Can I blame the rain?
