Autopsy sheds no light on Shop-Vac presidents death
By PHILIP A. HOLMES-pholmes@sungazette
What caused Shop-Vac Corp. president Charles Millers death over the weekend remains a mystery, after an autopsy Monday morning proved to be inconclusive, investigators said.
There is no obvious cause of death at this point, County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said.
The 30-year-old executive was found dead Saturday night in his home at 1647 Graham Road by his housekeeper, city police said.
The housekeeper had been asked to go to the home and check on Millers welfare after his mother was unable to reach him by telephone, investigators were told.
Miller lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Miller, but both were out of town over the weekend, Kiessling said.
Dr. Samuel Land, a forensic pathologist, performed the two-hour autopsy at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown, Kiessling said.
There is nothing to indicate that he (Miller) suffered a medical ailment, he said.
Police sources said that Miller told co-workers on Friday that he had not been feeling well.
Investigators hope that toxicology tests done on the body will provide some answers about why Miller died, Kiessling said.
Test results should be known in six to eight weeks, he said.
Were not ruling anything out until we have determined the cause and manner of his death, Kiessling said.
A Shop-Vac spokeswoman told the Sun-Gazette Monday afternoon that the company would not be issuing any statements.
Had the life sucked out of him?
