Watch that bump drafting boys!!
Coverage of the 2006 Daytona 500 airs live on NBC on Sunday, February 19 starting at 12:00 p.m. ET.
Could have been/might have been/should have been impounded; and if it were sporting a certain yellow-and-black paint scheme (or perhaps a no-sponsor scheme) instead of the paint scheme of the title sponsor of one of the significant tracks on the NA$¢AR circuit, not only would the car have been impounded, the entire team thrown out.
Cheater starts from the back....in his back up car.
Well, they did send him to the back of the Gatorade Duels qualifying race, but they didn't take the car.
squarble :)
I like that Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewrat did not give up after their setbacks.
Have watched nascar for 2 decades.....I want racing...movement forward.
Not ride around and make sure all your team gets 5 bonus points for leading a lap.
Nascar should reward drivers for staying in top 15 thru a race....some point value for consistency.
That would reward team crews for their effort in the pits.
Leading the most laps should be premium points....say 50.
Other changes;
Bristol has too many cars.
Half the field and do 2 shoot outs with the last race the top half of each shootout.
anyhoo...what changes would you like to see in Nascar?
How bout Shelmerdine! A 20th place finish! Meanwhile, Tony Stewart has reverted to form. A complete jerk a$$hole SOB.
Heck, Matt Kenseth didn't exactly give up after getting set back much further than Smoke and Flash (they never lost a lap; Kenseth lost 2 thanks to some rather uneven application of penalties). He got his laps back and got better than halfway back to the front with 200-mph tape for a left fender.
I would like to see a deer ramdomly put out on the track a few times a race.
PULL!
Dale Sr fans paid for his tires.
Needs to have more rivalries like football and baseball, etc.
I'd like to see college or pro football teams sponsor cars. Be neat to have USC and U of Texas competing against each other on the track. Or Steelers and Seahawks, etc.
Yes, it most certainly was. I don't have blood pressure problems yet, but imagine I do after that race. I was hosting a party with eight people...4 stewart fans, 3 gordon fans, and me...kenseth...I really really had to bite my tongue.
I'll wait until Tuesday to see what happens, but after today and what happened with Edwards earlier, I really think I'm going to back out of NASCAR. When it gets this emotional, it's time to stop.
Bristol ain't broke.
Do you feel Tony intentionally spilled him?
returned
Ya...sponsor ship,
Not big on Betty Crocker being their.
When I see MBNA...or any Bank,...want that car to wreck for sure.
Maybe Congress/politicians can sponsor a race.
Cheneys car should have a shotgun on its hood and be Orange and Black : )
Looked that way to me. Why else would he go all the way down on the apron?
It's tough some days. I can relate to that.
Last year was tough on me seeing Jr crash and lose tires and races and change crew chiefs. Being a true fan means you stick with them either way, but it's very hard some days and particularly when they get the unfair treatment that the 17 did today.
I think it was Jarret that used to drive the "White Rain" car. May be mistaken on the driver, but do remember the car.
Way to go Jimmie Johnson! Woo Hoo!
I can't think of anyone better to receive free tickets to a race. Tell your SIL Thank You, from a grateful Vet.
If you could find a way to keep the heat-racing concept from taking all day/all night, I'd be for it. Of course, you'd run into the same problem that caused NASCAR to go to 43 cars at every track and the current system of qualifying; some big-name sponsors like Valvoline and Catepillar (the two whose whine allegedly caused the current qualifying system after Scott Riggs and Scott Wimmer respectively missed the Bass Pro Shops/MBNA 500 in 2004), or official NA$¢AR sponsors that also sponsor Cup teams like Budweiser, DuPont, Exxon/Mobil/Sony (same team, so I lumped them together), The Home Depot, M&Ms/Pedigree (again, same team), Office Depot, or UPS are going to whine when their drivers are consistently not good enough to make the feature.
Other changes I'd make off-hand:
