My brother in law just returned from Prague and had a pic of two animatronic statues of men peeing in a pool shaped like the Czech Republic.

It used to be Czechoslovakia but they split up into two countries, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. I was going to post the picture he brought back; after all, Brussels has "Mannekenpis," but I decided to play it safe and just send you a link to the:

OMG yes --- I never noticed it - I am sure it was not deliberate. :)

Sad commentary on how common and depraved our world is becoming!

An what is sadder yet is how those who profess a faith are so numb they can not feel or understand this is not humor of funny!

The mind is below the belt instead of striving to elevate one thoughts!

Cardi thanks for sharing this in a way to know that we truly are on the the slippery slop!

I was taking the ladies for at trip along the Paseo Marítimo yesterday and saw they were building a funicular railway to the Park of San Pedro at the top of the mountain.

I know you like engineering stuff - so now tell me I am wrong. LOL

Now imagine a statue in Washington where they pee on the United States.

Only the politicians are allowed to do that. :)

This is the park where the funicular railway will ascend. The whole place looks like a putting green, it has the best turf I have ever seen they must cut it constantly.

This photo was taken with the telescopic lens at half distance so I could get the grass into the picture as well as the Torre.

A view from the park.

This building, built in 1920-1922, forms part of a trio of pavilions or places of recreation in the Gardens of Méndez Nuñez in La Coruña.

The sidewalk in front of the building, which faces a road, is almost never used by pedestrians as it is just a bypass by the docks for cars to avoid the heavier traffic in the city center. In 1920, with almost no cars, no one would ever see that side. The side in the park is nondescript even the towers and cupolas are more or less hidden by the trees.

Although I have passed this way hundreds of times I never really saw the building, the trees blocked the view on the approach. I first really saw it when they built a cinema and restaurant center opposite and I viewed it from above thru a window.

La Terraza
(front or back?)

No one seemed to know anything about the building except it was a cafeteria at one time, and they had only seen the side in the park.

I checked with Google and found that the University of Coruña had a small blurb with a pathetic picture taken from the park side:

Thanks for the links Resti - most of them seem to show the wrong side or maybe I am wrong, who knows front from back.

But I think my pic taken coming out of an underground parking lot is the best. :)

If you don´t like Arte Deco style then maybe this building in Prague could be more to your liking or perhaps part of the slippery slope. :)

Dancing Building or Fred and Ginger

Ironically, the building that preceded it was destroyed on February 14, 1945 by a stray American bomb supposedly headed for Dresden. Defenders see Gehry's collaboration as a kind of peaceful reparation. Others see his design as the second American bomb to be dropped on the site.
