Honestly, I was more into heavier music than the hairband stuff. The first time I saw Poison's first album cover, I knew it was going to get weird for a few years. I liked the heavier stuff as well but, damn! those "pretty boy" hair bands always had the hottest, most scantily dressed females at their shows!

That SNL cowbell skit is hilarious.
Did you see SNL when Skid Row was the guest band and they did a skit in this little boy's bedroom (while he was bed) and they rocked out to the "ABCs". Sabastian Bach was all up in the kids face singing really loud. I mean REALLY loud.
The mom comes in the room and all she says is, "Billy it's time for your friends to go home and for you to go to bed" or something like that.
I'll never forget that. I laughed so hard.

Tell me, Grace...what was it like to go from young psychedellic icon to a forty-something capitalist making money on crappy music?

In no particular order, here are a few songs that aren't on this list, that I would include:
LA Guns - "It's Over Now"
LA Guns - "The Ballad Of Jayne"
Helix - "Make Me Do Anything You Want"
Guns 'N Roses - "Patience"
Enuff Z'nuff - "Fly High Michelle"
Cinderella - "The Last Mile"
Winger - "Miles Away"
Warrant - "Heaven"
Warrant - "Sometimes She Cries"
Trixter - "Give It To Me Good"
Poison - "Cry Tough"
Poison - "Something To Believe In"
Ozzy Osbourne -"Mama I'm Comin' Home"
Alias - "More Than Words Can Say"
Tesla - "What You Give"
Sheriff - "When I'm With You"
Survivor - "I Can't Hold Back"
Van Halen - "When Love Walks In"
I'll probably catch alot of hell for this one.... Air Supply - "All Out Of Love"
:D

Survivor - good stuff there. Another underrated band IMHO. Loved "Eye of the Tiger" and "Burning Heart." Another good one was "High on You."

Pat Benatar's "Love is a Battlefield" should be on the list.

I almost forgot about this! Speaking of Starship (again...) my cousin had a full sized poster of Mickey Thomas and Grace Slick in her room circa 1986! Aah the old days!

21. Silent Lucidity-- Queensryche
17. These Dreams-- Heart
14. Keep On Loving You-- REO Speedwagon
9. Sister Christian-- Night Ranger
7. Every Rose Has Its Thorn-- Poison
These are good. Dump the rest.
Agree with you about Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart".
I did Poison at a karaoke once A CAPELLA and brought the house down.

I can do a decent "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" once I've consumed enough alcohol to get the balls to go on stage.

I sang Steve Perry's "Oh Sherrie" at a karaoke event one time. Hit those high notes and my eyes felt like they were gonna pop out of their sockets. LOL!
