Good morning Alice!
My little MP3 player showed up last night and is better than I thought it would be. +1.
Went to the community Valentine's Day dance. Live Big Band playing all the classics. I can't dance to save my life, but Zon and I still managed to not step on each other too badly. It was a family thing, so all the neighborhood rugrats where there and Ana was the Belle of the Ball. The kid can dance. ;-) +1
Still managed to finish off my class work, take out the garbage, and prep all my gear for this mornings workout before midnight. +1
Still dealing with a raspy throat from some allergen or another. Bad nights sleep. -1
Thanks to some kick arse tunes on my new MP3 player, had an absolutely knock out, weak in the knees, ball busting workout this morning. No more Elton John and Christina Agulera BS dragging down the tempo and sapping my will to live. Motorhead. Helmet. Danzig. Seraphim Shock. Lordi. Mortis. Sisters of Mercy. The kind of music my mother would never approve of, but also the kind of thing you want blaring in your ears while trying to push off from the bottom on your 5th rep, 4th set, straining under 465lbs... + a brazillion.
Now... let's see what the rest of today tosses at me... ;-)
What ho!
How goes the life of a business mogul?
Glad to hear your day started with an up swing.
So did mine, minus any loud music. Working out in the basement, directly under the master bedroom, at 5 am has certain limitations. But the workout was still fine! (Started a new bowflex routine, so that's always good.)
What mp3 player did you get?
Nifty! I'm holding off on getting an ipod until I have my lappie paid off, so I'll be working out in silence for the duration.
What is a "gaming rig"?
iPod. No thanks. Too expensive for a portable jukebox. I don't need anything like that. I'll only be listening to mine for about and hour and a half at a time. What do I need 30GB for?
Okay, exposing my ignorance on several fronts at once:
What does "FPS" mean?
What does an ipod have/offer that makes it so much more expensive than an mp3 player, besides the "ipod" logo?
"Of course, I think that women are the expensive ones. I certainly can't afford one."
Maybe you could lease one @OAC?
OK, I guess. I was going to Phoenix today, but my mortgage didn't close yesterday, so I am stuck here trying to find out what need to be done. What are you up to today?
Not even leasing. Here's how to figure out how much a woman costs: Take all of your money.
Add 10%.
That's how much she costs. And that's if she stays with you.
*shuddering at the word "mortgage"*
Already completed tasks:
Morning lessons with the children are finished (I homeschool all four of them).
Vestry notes have been revised twice and sent back to be printed for the next meeting.
I've wrapped up the details for the swimming banquet re: our guest speaker, Kristy Kowal.
I've worked out, and added a new bowflex routine to the mix.
I'm waiting to hear whether or not I'm sending Primus and Secundus (the two oldest children) to a swim meet to qualify for JO's.
I've yet to do the following:
Eat
Do the banking
Finish entering dates into the calendar (I plan a minimum of six months in advance)
Revise lesson plans
Contact the kids' evaluator re: mandatory standardized testing
Study my aria
Trim Mcxlplx's claws
Prep and then make supper
Ballet class for Primus and Secundus (sub. teacher today: Phil Colucci of the Pa. Ballet. Woohoo!)
Transfer and organize computer files
Finalize some garden layouts and seed purchases for some friends.
Colate and submit past vestry meeting minutes (with attachments) to the church to be logged.
Get some work done on a personal project.
Fortunately, there is no swimming practice today, so I have a whole hour and a half to do more stuff than I would normally. If I get all of the above finished, I might consider my next chess move against my opponent (who's really my teacher; I'm new to the game) or I might actually sit down in a chair and fall asleep.
What happened with the mortgage *shudder*, if you don't mind me asking?
Good morning, Steve!
What's up in your neck of the woods?
Morning, you!
You sound much better today, and just the fact that you posted says a lot.
I'm sure Zon enjoyed holding you while she danced, last night!
Tell me the rules again for dating your daughter, so I can send them to my youngest grandson...;o]
Size. That is about all I can see. My Sandisk is little more than a glorified USB storage device. Anything Apple sells has an automatic 25% markup on it. Just because there are enough people that'll pay it I guess.
Thanks for the explanation on both. I'm still learning about computers! I'm having a ball doing it, though.
Anything else new and exciting? Are you meeting your workout goals?
Ouch.
I've lost enough weight by now that some of my old wardrobe is starting to fit again. Bad part about that is that some of the shirts don't fit in the chest/shoulders any more. As if having a neck size problem to begin with wasn't bad enough. I'm going to have to move into 2x/3x shirts and have a yard or two of cloth tailored out to get 'em to look good in the waistline.
Yep. We danced more last night than we did at our wedding reception. Mas fun...

Wait 12 years. Ask politely. Don't fear the shotgun... ;-)
